Chapter 2 – A Visitor in the Night
The trio of fighters continued their journey west, but then turned south. They walked for miles, having a break at the cows near Yanille by killing and eating them. They got a drink from a nearby well. Baccul was still limping, so Emmerai went behind him while Ransar walked in front of him. After a short bank stop in Yanille, they begun the journey south to the Feldip Jungle.
Day becomes night too quickly. Well, that’* what Ransar thought when they reached the edge of the jungle. They could here explosions, crossbows rattling and swords clashing in the distance - the LOD we’re attacking the beaches. They ventured further into the forest, coming across the odd dead body – the corpses of the old defence force in the area. Emmerai sighed. “They must be crushing our defence force. Look – there’s another body!” The body she pointed at was headless. Baccul looked down at his leg and cringed ; suddenly, he wasn’t very supportive of blood and gore. He pulled his crossbow out and kept hobbling along, with the support or Ransar. Suddenly, there was a rustling noise. Ransar yanked his crossbow out of its holster and spun around.
Emmerai was gone.
They quickly realised they we’re in danger. Ransar rested Baccul against a tree and snuck into the bushes. He could hear a whimpering – a female voice. He turned on his light sowrd and drew his crossbow, then hid behind a tree. His head was running wildly but he knew he had to focus. Three, two, one – and around. He spun out from behind the tree and fired two shots. Both hit the ground and a male human, with a sword around Emmerai’s neck, jumped away and slammed into a tree. He wasn’t knocked out but he was dizzy. Ransar guessed he was about 14 or 15 years of age. He was wearing full rune and had a dragon longsword on the floor. The boy rushed to pick it up, but Emmerai was too quick for him and she dived, snatching the sword. Ransar scowled. “Who are you working for?” The boy remained
