Chapter 2 – A Visitor in the Night
The trio of fighters continued their journey west, but then turned south. They walked for miles, having a break at the cows near Yanille by killing and eating them. They got a drink from a nearby well. Baccul was still limping, so Emmerai went behind him while Ransar walked in front of him. After a short bank stop in Yanille, they begun the journey south to the Feldip Jungle.
Day becomes night too quickly. Well, that’* what Ransar thought when they reached the edge of the jungle. They could here explosions, crossbows rattling and swords clashing in the distance - the LOD we’re attacking the beaches. They ventured further into the forest, coming across the odd dead body – the corpses of the old defence force in the area. Emmerai sighed. “They must be crushing our defence force. Look – there’s another body!” The body she pointed at was headless. Baccul looked down at his leg and cringed ; suddenly, he wasn’t very supportive of blood and gore. He pulled his crossbow out and kept hobbling along, with the support or Ransar. Suddenly, there was a rustling noise. Ransar yanked his crossbow out of its holster and spun around.
Emmerai was gone.
They quickly realised they we’re in danger. Ransar rested Baccul against a tree and snuck into the bushes. He could hear a whimpering – a female voice. He turned on his light sowrd and drew his crossbow, then hid behind a tree. His head was running wildly but he knew he had to focus. Three, two, one – and around. He spun out from behind the tree and fired two shots. Both hit the ground and a male human, with a sword around Emmerai’s neck, jumped away and slammed into a tree. He wasn’t knocked out but he was dizzy. Ransar guessed he was about 14 or 15 years of age. He was wearing full rune and had a dragon longsword on the floor. The boy rushed to pick it up, but Emmerai was too quick for him and she dived, snatching the sword. Ransar scowled. “Who are you working for?” The boy remained

silent. “TELL ME!” Ransar yelled, at the top of his voice. Finally the boy spoke. “My names John, my dad works as a sergeant in the R*R and I ran because we are getting pummelled on the beaches.” Baccul hobbeled over. The three adults nodded at each other then Baccul spoke. “You can come with us. We will find youre dad, but first, where are we?”
“We are just south of Awar’s Cove,” He sighed in almost patronising tone, “Therefore meaning – whats that noise?” Ransar spoke quietly, “Finish the sentence!” he said. John’s eyes widened. “The enemy reinforcements are less than 100 metres away.” Suddenly, the soil jumped up all around them and there was a consistent, loud ack-ack noise as crossbow bolts smashed into the ground all around them. They ducked into the bushes, but Baccul, being injured, didn’t make it. He clutched his chest and toppled over. Then there was silence.
Please post your thoughts :D

IN the words of Conan the Barbarian, "I always had nightmares about dying in a bed with physicans murmuring 'round my body. At least if I die this day, thank Crom I'll go out as I had wished, in battle!"
