Chapter 7 - The Battle For Yanille
Before long the RCR army was charging and its front few ranks being mown down. Before long they were locked in close combat - Ransar was holding off enemy soldiers while Emmerai used her incredible magic to freeze them. Taram was locked in close combat with Creed, struggling to get around the Major General's downpour of authority.
Before long Tanis, Karenzi and Steve had stumbled onto the battlefield. Steve went straight for Tanis. He brought his sword in low only for Tanis to jump it and punch him with his shield. They kept cancelling each other out. Eventully Tanis was knocked to the ground face down. Steve stood over him and smiled - but the smile faded when Tanis swung the sword up into his stomach. He died slowly on the battlefield.
After a while sheer numbers forced the RCR to make a complete retreat towards the Elven lands, in the vain hope they would let them enter. Karenzi had tears in his eyes as he slumped himself against a tree trunk to rest, seing the LOD march into Yanille - his home town. Ransar already knew him and comforted him. Taran threw his sword to the ground in anger. "We lost! Again!" Emmerai just stood there, shocked. LOD had won the First War. And she knew it.
She said it out loud and the 30 survivors bowed their heads. Although then Ransar looked up. "The war may be over - but the fight for freedom isnt. We have other armies elsewhere, and we must recover and declare a Second War as soon as possible. Death or glory, comrades!" The others yelled in approval. It wasnt over yet.
