How long was it that you had to endure in that school? I had to stay in that school for over a year, and I had no friends...
For me, I think I simply felt stranded in a foreign land and it was easy to just hate everyone around me who are doing this to me for their own amusement.
And I can't even remember being picked on to this extent back home

Ah, at least you have your brothers. I really had no one. My sister was in a primary school where children were a lot nicer. I was just starting out secondary school then.
Very true, my brothers helped and still do pull me out of a lot of situations. They are always when I get bored and we can always come up with stupid and pointless games that help time pass =P You ever do that with your sister?
Really? Actually, while you do know someone more as you grow up, siblings usually grow apart, unless they happen to go to the same university studying the same subject at the same time. Different hobbies, pursuits and beliefs will all come in to play.
I suppose in a sense that's what religion does, so people's ideals and moral values are 'standardised' and made the same. But we're not going into that field, are we?
