Man, I really love your first story. Although it is not as well written (Not even close =P) as your recent stories, I feel really connected to it. It's called a culture shock. Which I have been through, and wow that story illustrates it really well!

Well, it was my 'first' story in a sense that I started to understand the basics of writing and put emotions in a story. I think that's why I put it chronologically, even though the writing path I went wasn't always linear.

I wouldn't suspect it was as well written with my later works :P . If you can see from the Table of Contents, you're comparing it with some significantly later works, much further along my path as a writer! (The Priceless 2 and Brotherly Love are near the bottom!)

But I suppose I had to start somewhere, and this was pretty much where I started. You'll notice that themes sometimes repeat themselves, perhaps. And you have been through culture shocks too. It's something, right?

Also, in a weird way, the first story explains why I'm called English. I won't be a legend if you know why I started out as, lol.

I was not judging the mechanics of you story, I was simply stating that you have, obviously, greatly improved compare to what you are now capable of doing. Which is to be expected, but the speed at which you improved is quite impressibly noticeable.

Cultures shocks are things that no one can understand unless they have gone through one. Mostly because the mind cannot comprehend the fact that it's way to think can be completely overturned and changed (For better of for worse) in a matter of days. i think that for most people, it's that they have grown ignorant of the fact that billions of other people think extremely differently than they do, and respond differently than they do. Some may say that they do understand it with their minds, but in reality they do not grasp what is truly is.

Not to say that it is a bad thing, after you have successfully gone through one, it's as though your brain has grown a new layer of understand. Your eyes are open to far more than just your own little world. I think that's what I really like about it, and why it is so hard for us 2 or 3 culture kids to make friends with 1 culture kids, it's because they do not have this extra dimension of understanding. Not to say that we are smarter or better off, just that we now function differently than we did or they do.

I think you are wrong, the fact that you are legend is based on where you started, and how you managed to climb the ladder! If you are born a billionaire, nobody truly admires you, but if you start dirt poor and become a billionaire, people do admire you. Think of William Wallace, or all of these people that build themselves up from nothing!

Lol! Personally I don't celebrate Valentines, but to ban it? You must have had a bad Valentines Day.
