It is with deep, deep regret that I announce this: My membership credit is to be cancelled. It simply is no longer worth $60 a year to be a member of RuneScape. This is not a sudden shock, obviously; this has been long coming. I guess now I am forced to finally admit it. To my greatest friends on these forums, Haru, Demon, Star, Smurf, I am deeply sorry. I wanted to complete my story, but as time went on I have just lost the initiative. I don't think I'll get it back.
So, I guess that's about all. There is a small chance that I'll be back, but I don't think I'll return this time. Don't take this as a discouragement to read my stories, but if you bump them in the hope that I'll return, I'd advise you not to. Again, I am very sorry. I hope this forum stays as great of a place as it was when I first entered it.
Goodbye. I'll miss you all.

Note: This story doesn't have chapters. Me and chapters don't work. We had a short relationship and it ended badly.

Oh and for those who were there for 1k posts, I am posting it right where I did in the first version.

All over the lands of RuneScape, tales are spun of the great Champions of the four Great Games: Castle Wars, Duel Arena, The Agility Arena, and the Wilderness. The champion of a Game is the champion of the world. Kings and Emperors, and even some minor Gods bow down to the winners.

Obviously, this wasn't without reason; Castle Wars, the great Game of the far west, requires incredible teamwork, strategy, and fighting skills. Then, far off in the caves of Karamja, the Agility Arena is full of nefarious surprises and sinister setbacks, so only the strongest and most agile warriors can tame the great underground Arena.

Even farther east, rising up out of the sand, lies the legendary Duel arena, where the amount of money and the weapons brought is the key to Championhood. Only the luckiest and most sly of all can rise to the title of Champion.

And finally, the Wilderness, the massive northern plain dominated by murderers, thieves, and warriors looking for a good fight. A place only spoken of by most folk in hushed whispers, the terrifying expanse holds dragons, rockslides, monsters, lava, spiders, pitfalls, cages, ruins, teleportation grids, and many more horrors that only the quickest, strongest, and most overall skilled warrior in the whole world can become Champion.

The Champions of all the Games are treated better than royalty. Every city has a special palace just for them; soldiers are specially trained better than even royal guards to protect them; all the food, drink, and "pleasureable company" they get is absolutely delicious, the people love them almost more than their kings, and overall, they get the best possible treatment.

So obviously you can see how high the stakes are in these games. And they are for real; to die in the games means that you are dead for real.

So, that said, we dive into the first character of our story: Duel Arena Champion, Drake Karloch, or just simply "Drake."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The Duel Arena~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Drake yawned and rolled out of the king-sized bed he and his "friend" had been using the night before. After patting the girl on her shoulder and looking lustily at her one last time, he put his feet down on the floor and into specially heated Al-Kharid style cashmere slippers.
Drake was a muscular Al-Kharidian with long dark braided hair that was blacker than a dark summer's night and tan skin. His face was slightly scarred, but one usually didn't notice it when they found his deep emerald eyes that one could stare into for their whole life, unless it was cut short by his sword.
Drake's bedroom was one of fifteen in his special Champion Palace in Al-Kharid. The palace was a little bit north of the Duel Arena, with Drake's choice bedroom overlooking the Arena. His room was adorned with priceless carpets, demon heads, and stone statues wearing priceless gold-plated rune armor. On their heads were blue crowns with onyxes, and a priceless on top. All thirty-five of them held exactly the same appearance, day after day. And that was only one room; every room, hall, and courtyard of Drake's had the same adornment. All together, his palaces all over the world costed roughly 345 billion gold pieces. Of the four Champions, Drake was the greediest and most self-centered.
Each Games Palace was split into quarters. One for Castle Wars, one for Duel Arena, one for Agility Arena, and one for the Wilderness. Of the four quarters of each castle-palace, the Wilderness champion's was the largest, but the Duel Arena's champion was almost always the most expensive.
Oh and by the way, did I mention that each palace was virtually impregnable, with ten thousand soldiers in each at any one time?
Drake walked out of his massive bedroom into his massive bathroom, where three butlers were waiting in full uniform. He nodded at them, and they slipped a gold-encrusted bathrobe on him. Then he took a leisurely bath, and was then given a back massage, a shaving and hair cutting to his exact style, and another set of robes for the next stage in his lengthy morning routine.
He stepped into a steaming sauna, where four unadorned girls made "conversation" with him. Then he stepped out, had another set of robes and slippers put on, and went down the marble staircase to the breakfast chamber. Along the way, he passed by one of his statues. He noticed the party hat was slightly to one side. Instead of fixing it, however, he pointed silently to one of the servants, then at the statue, and moved on, confident that it would be fixed.
Breakfast was his favorite time of the day. Hundreds of chefs labored every morning to produce the best tasting food from whatever place in the world. At the moment, Drake was in the mood for some Ardougne-style baking goods, and by the time he had gone from the kitchens to the massive yew tree table to sit at the head of it in his cushioned chair, the mouth-watering baked goods were served.
Drake picked his favorite first: chocolate cake with three extra cups of icing on top and a muffin full of jelly toffee. He liked to mix the two together and wash it down with premium Lumbridge cow milk. Then he took two Ardougne special muffins saved for kings, and stuffed his cheeks full. Then, when finished with breakfast, he abruptly got up and walked off towards the training rooms.
Immediately upon arriving at the training rooms, he took off his lavish dining robes and put on his old training outfit: a simple loincloth and knee, shoulder, and elbow protectors. The ever-present girls gasped and whispered upon seeing his muscles. He smiled and winked at them, making them blush.
