Hiya!

So far, the trip is going fine. Ralan and I stopped at a great little inn for the night, and have woken up rested and refreshed. We will hopefully get to Falador in time for night–the ‘Rising Sun’ has been highly recommended by friends who boarded there. If not, than we can camp out, seeing as we’ve brought along a tent and various cooking utensils.

From Falador, we’d like to go to Varrock, the big city. Neither of us have been there before, so it ought to be interesting. All those people crammed into such a small space.

I’d hate to live there.

Anyway, the innkeeper’s wife gave us some fresh-baked bread for the road. It smells great. I’d bet ten gold pieces that it** gone before we reach Falador.

I’ll write more later.

Ravana.

Today was interesting. Legend and I had a bit of an adventure this evening, which was good. We need to keep sharp. I’ll relate the day’s events here.

In the morning we taught the innkeeper a lesson–Legend and I both were forced to sleep in beds filled with insects. We had to sleep on the floor to get away from them, which did not do anything good for our backs–or our tempers.
No guest should have to put up with such conditions, so we spoke to the owner in the morning.

When Legend lifted him up by the collar, the look on his face was priceless.

He agreed to refund our money, along with the money of the other guests who had stayed the night. He also promised to replace the beds as soon as possible. We will be coming through there on our way back, just to make sure he kept his word.

Not too much happened on the trek to the next village. Once, we got waylaid by highwaymen–four of them. They were only armed with sticks and daggers though, and we made short work of them. Our wallets gained about five hundred gold pieces from that job.

We made the village of Edgeville a few hours before full dark, and, after reserving rooms, we decided to go to the inn’s bar. First though, we had to change. Legend wore a white shirt that left his arms bare, exposing his muscles. Over that, he wore a gold button-up shirt, with black pants.

I wore a gold dress, slightly low-cut, that fell above-the-knee. Then I cast a spell on Legend that we always used before going out. It could change our eye colour from our normal bright gold, to a nice, shining, blue. Then Legend cast it on me. Now we looked like normal people, instead of gleaming golden sun sorcerers.

Now we could go.

The ‘Drunken Donkey’, which had a charming sign with a picture of a half-smashed ungulate, was a rowdy place, filled with the smell of beer and sweat. The dancing floor was crowded, and dirty, unshaven, men stuck to the bar like ants to honey.

Legend ordered drinks for us, pressing through the throng about the bar. As I looked for a table, I felt a hand on my shoulder.

I turned slowly. “What are you doing?”

The man, a hulking brute about six-six, with obscenely huge arms showing through his muscle shirt, backed away in mock fear, holding his arms it the air. “Whoa there lil’ missy, I ain’t gonna hurt ya. I was jus’ wonderen’ if ya’d like ta’ have a drink wit’ me.”

“No. I wouldn’t like that at all. Please go bother someone else.”

He frowned. Obviously he thought himself hot stuff, and was confused about my not succumbing to his charm. He was good looking, if you didn’t mind beaked noses, and evidently was accustomed to girls coming to him. “Comon’, have a drink.”

“No.”

He attempted to put an arm over my shoulder, and I was just getting ready to whack him one when Legend appeared. “What’s going on?” he demanded.
The other man stepped back, “Ah, she’s yurs’ then.”

“No, she’s not. Stay away from her though, or I’ll make you wish you hadn’t.”

“You wanna take me on?”

“No. I simply asked you to stay away from her. If you decide to ignore my suggestion, than you might be hurt quite badly.”

The other man grinned. Legend stood about a half foot lower than him, wasn’t as broad, and with his long golden hair, looked like an easily beatable target. “I’ll challenge ya.”

Legend was never one to pass up a fight. “I’ll take it.”

“A drinking challenge contest.”

“Fine by me.”

“See ya at the bar.” The big man made his way--none too steadily--to the bar.

“Come on,” said Legend. “Watch. I’ve got this in the bag.”

“He’s big.” I said, just to annoy him.

Legend glared.

“And strong.”

“I’m stronger. Let’s go.”

Ten minutes later, the contest was ready. First, the big man would issue a challenge. The big man would perform his challenge first, then Legend would do the same. Then it would be Legend’s turn.
