Note: I have not played RS since 2011 or 2012 so my map details might be a little inaccurate. None of this is part of the "real" history of Gielnor. I will make up some names as well and they may sound odd; I'm just having fun with this.

So our story begins about six thousand years ago in a land without a name. Back then, there were not many human inhabitants to be found as they were few and far apart. The land was a stronghold of an empire of a race of creatures called Goblins. The Goblin empire's history stretches far back into the time before man, and around five hundred years prior to the events of this story it was at it's apex. Now it was on the decline. This land, once very lush and full of plant life, had started to become very dry and infertile; so the inhabitants, humans and goblin alike began to migrate else where. The empire had been split into several smaller kingdoms which was due to small wars fought between different ethnic and religious groups of Goblins. The E'krid (pronounced 'E-KA-RID') were the only one of these ethnic groups known to have inhabited this land. They were facing opposition to their neighbors to the north-west known as the Sutans. The humans who still lived on E'krid land knew that the two armies were about to clash and did not want to get caught in the middle of the vicious fighting. When the war finally broke out, and left several dead humans in its wake, the humans finally began to plan to defend themselves against the goblin tyranny. One tribe leader named Borec planned to attack the goblin's training arena. His wife, Ludin thought this plan was foolish and far fetched; but Borec took 30 men and marched to the arena where he and his men were slaughtered by goblin honor guards at the gates of the arena. After days went by with no word from her husband, Ludin and her sons Sincrostire and Misthal and left their camp. They eventually found another tribe of humans north of where they were...

Ludin and her sons had moved north toward the scorpion pit where they found another become infertile. Ludin married the leader of the tribe, Mort and her sons held high positions in their small society. Ludin had the tribe's chief teach her sons about combat and warfare. The war chief had seen first had how skilled the goblins were in warfare and used those same techniques to fight off other human tribes who wanted to steal their food, goods, and women. Years later when the boys had become men and the tribe's numbers had doubled, Ludin persuaded her husband to go to war with the goblins. Her first planned attack was the same training arena where her husband and 30 members of her tribe were killed. She had the chief take 200 men (including her only sons) to the arena where they fought several waves of goblin honor guard and infantry soldiers. Unlike their father who had led an unsuccessful attack years earlier, they returned victors. The boys and their mother were now satisfied that they had avenged their fathers death. Suddenly, the goblin menace didn't seem so menacing anymore. Now they realized with skill and willpower they could defeat the goblin army. Due to the increasing number of tribes people, they had planned to sack the entire land ruled by the E'krid, but they saw greener pastures to the west of E'krid land. The tribe went to the south-west before reaching a river. They stopped and settled there. There were goblins in this area but they were no match for Ludin's tribe. They wanted to cross the river but they did not know how to build a stable bridge that could carry that many people. So they used bark from some oak trees and made a plank bridge with the little architectural knowledge that they had. On the opposite side of the river from where they came was the land of the Sutan. Ludin's tribe did not know what to expect from the Sutan but she knew taking their kingdom was vital as her tribe needed a new home. The tribe fought for a day...

...until they finally conquered the Sutan kingdom. Ludin made the decision to keep some of the goblins as secretaries and preists. Some of the goblins were skilled architects, Ludin put them to work to build a bridge connecting her land which she had named Sutan after the native tribe and the land of E'krid. After the bridge was completed, the masons who had constructed it had told Prince Sincrostire in his strange dialect that "Lady Lun's bridge" had been completed. Eventually the name stuck and it became known first as Lun's bridge, then Lunbridge, then finally Lumbridge. That name was then applied to the newly constructed castle and the land around it. After [king] death. Queen Ludin had become very depressed and eventually fell ill due to a plague that swept the kingdom. Fearing she was facing death, she appointed Sincrostire as her heir. Sincrostire had fallen in love with a commoner as a Prince with a woman named Victoria. They had a son whom Victoria named Arrav, after her father. Just as his mother had done with him and his brother, he had his war chief teach his son about combat and warfare. When he came of age, Arrav went out on his own, without the permission of his father and went north into uncharted territory. He followed the same river that his father, uncle, and grandmother crossed years before until he came across an unfamiliar sight. He saw a strange circle stone structure, and in the middle were goblin druids. He was taught about ancient religions, about how goblins established Saradomin as the divine god of the land. He kept walking north until he saw the remains of an old settlement which looked like it was created by humans, even though there were no humans in sight. He saw goblins, he did not know which ethnic kingdom they belonged to but they did not look friendly. When he was spotted by one of them, they called out for the others and he was chased all the way back to Lumbridge. That day had scared him.

He had ran back and told the people of Lumbridge, which had long since removed goblins from any position in power, that he had found an unknown kingdom of hostile goblins. The kingdom was now on watch as the threat of a goblin attack was imminent. Over time, many people began disappearing from Lumbridge without a trace. One guard had spotted and killed a goblin in the act of kidnapping of the citizens. When Arrav saw the creature for himself, he automatically knew where it had came from. He told the chief this was one of the goblins who had chased him back to Lumbridge. King Sincrostire had gotten word of all this and concluded that the kingdom was under attack. He gathered Lumbridge's army and marched north to find and kill the growing goblin threat. Little did he know that the goblins he encountered, the Tantu and the Arocks were vicious and extremely intelligent fighters. Sincrostire had returned to Lumbridge with a quarter of his army either killed or taken captive by the northern goblins. Arrav eager to join the fight went further west without his father's knowing to find someone to help them. He stumbled upon a tribe of people in the remote part of the forest behind the castle who were exceptionally skilled swordsmen. They had invented a new type of sword called the long sword which was much deadlier than the daggers and short swords Lumbridge's army had been using. He brought them into the kingdom as guests of the Prince. They taught the army how to properly use the long sword and also improved their hand-to-hand combat skills. The army returned to the goblin settlement once more and sacked the entire area in seven days. The goblins were either killed or expelled from the land, just as they had been in Lumbridge. Ludin had died due to health complications a year earlier and Sincrostire wanted to name this new settlement Ludin, in honor of his mother. He instead gave that honor to his son and named it, Arravocka and appointed him governor.

During the later years of his life, Misthal, knowing he had not help to establish Arravocka and had done very little compared to his mother and brother in creating Lumbridge, wanted to make a name for himself. Unlike his brother he had not married and had not had any children. He was an old man now. His nephew Arrav had taken his settlement and made it into a city and Lumbridge was as prosperous as ever; now he had to contribute. He wondered what part had not been settled yet. He thought about returning to E'krid but by that point it had completely turned to desert and there was no value left in it. He was worried what was west of the kingdom. For he had known very little about it, the only other place he knew of was E'krid. Being part of the royal family, he ordered ten soldiers to accompany him on his trip to E'krid. When he arrived there, it was completely abandoned. He went to where the goblin's captial building once stood, still nothing. He had wondered what had happened to the inhabitants. He claimed the land as his own and went back to Lumbridge to lay the blue print for his new city. Unlike his mother and brother, Misthal did not really change the name of the land. His people had always called it E'krid because that was the name of the goblins who ruled there. The goblins themselves never had a name for it. He did however alter the spelling to his language and called it Al Kharid. The construction began first with the bank of Al Kharid, then the capital building. There were constant attacks from scorpions and several cases of snake bites. The long swords that were brought to Lumbridge years earlier were efficient to fight off the scorpions. He developed a new sword that was meant for slicing and chopping rather than stabbing and lunging. He flattened the long sword and gave it a distinct curve, he called it the scimitar. Before his city could be complete, Misthal passed away childless on the very same land he was born on.

The story does not end here however, because Al Kharid was not the third city I was referring to in the title. Years later, Sincrostire united Lumbridge, Arravocka, and Al Kharid under one new kingdom; Misthalin. But after his death, Lumbridge was taken over by a foreign leader who was from a tribe to the distant west of Lumbridge. The people called their land Draynor. They were not goblins but practiced goblin magick. They had scared the native Lumbridge people after their strange abilities had demolished their kingdom. Draynor was just a fishing outpost once inhabited by goblins. Now it was under the control of humans who adopted their culture and religious practices. The leader of the tribe was named Alford. He had been a student under goblin mages for many years before teaching other humans these magical abilities and then killing off most of the goblin population. After he had taken Lumbridge for himself, the entire Kingdom of Misthalin fell into economic and social ruin without the governing city. Arrav had been taken prisoner and his wife had become a slave to the Draynor people. A young priest from Lumbridge had begun to study the magics used by foreign rulers and had taught them to others. He then gathered these individuals and stormed the castle and killed the guards and killed Alford's family. He spared Alford's life but instead had him imprisoned for the rest of his life. The young priest had taken Lumbridge back and brought stability back to Misthlain. He went to the invaders land of Draynor with his troops unopposed and claimed it as a Misthalian settlement. He continued west where he eventually stopped and created a brand new settlement which he named after himself; Port Sarim. He freed Alford and appointed him acting governor of this region since he himself did not know it very well. Alford told him about a beautiful land north of Port Sarim which the goblins had called Bandyr. King Sarim claimed it and called it Alfadyr (Falador).
