I already know who survives and who doesn't, what if I just leave them all alive? It's a hypothetical story, I guess. =P I mean it won't have spoilers or anything, it's just...these people, away from all the conflict.
Sort of like the epilogue to Harry Potter in the last book. That's kind of what I was going to aim for. Assuming you all want it.

Arwing let the arrow fly, then sprinted across the courtyard and slid behind a stone lion in the garden. Each breath scraped her throat ragged, her head was pounding she needed a respite. She huddled with her back to the stone ornament and checked her quiver. Nearly empty. And her horse had been cut from beneath her almost an hour ago. That was what it felt like, anyway; for all she knew it had only been ten minutes. Time stopped for battles, it seemed.
She peeked out, searching for a good target. There were still plenty. Once the initial shock had worn off, the soldiers rallied and were fighting well. There one running toward Maston she noc*ed and let fly again. The man staggered as the arrow pierced his shoulder and barreled into Maston, flinging his sword wildly. She screamed as blood blossomed from his chest.
Then she was up and running, helping him back to his feet, supporting him out of the battle. Back in her small sanctuary, she forced him down. "Arwing, I'm fine," he chuckled as she batted his hands away and examined the wound. It was long across his chest, but shallow.
"Im fine," he repeated, but his breath came in short gasps. His eyes were fiery red with battle fever.
"No, you're not." She tore a strip from her shirt and pressed it to the cut. "Why don't you wear armor, you giant fool?" she exclaimed, sobbing, as his head drifted to the side and his eyes closed. The rise and fall of his chest was slower. "Stay with me, Maston!"
His eyes opened again and he smiled. "Just trying to catch my breath. Dont worry, Im right here."
She sagged against his chest. "Don't scare me like that," she whispered, and closed her eyes. She couldn't bear to lose him. It shouldn't be like this. Why couldn't they be safe, and happy? Too many times she had imagined how it would be...

** She opened the carriage door into a flurry of snow. Laughing, she pulled the velvet cloak tighter around her shoulders. "Look, Maston!"
He clambered out beside her. "Isn't it beautiful?" she cried, delighted. The courtyard of the Varrock palace was covered in a quilt of white. It crusted the branches of the dark evergreens, draped over the hedges, perched atop the gargoyle's head.
He nodded. "Let's get inside though, I'm freezing."
"This way, my Lord Duke." A guard bowed, sending a clump of snow sliding off his helmet, and led them up the steps. Inside, their cloaks were removed, and another man in uniform arrived to guide them further. Tall, wearing an emerald surcoat bearing the seal of the Guard Captain and a craggy smile, he was a welcome sight.
"Adrian, you old dog!" Maston hugged him fiercely, then stepped back so that Arwing could greet him as well. "How goes it?"
"Well, my friend, well. Arwing, always a pleasure." He bowed deeply, admiring the shimmering sapphire dress she wore. Maston matched, as was only fitting for Duke and Duchess, in a ruby tunic trimmed with blue. His hair was shorter, nearer to his ears, and his chin was clean-shaved. They were a perfect pair, as regal and beautiful as ever.
"Have the others arrived?"
"All but Bond." Adrian chuckled. "He probably plans on making an entrance."
"In her letter, Krystal said they'd bring the baby. They haven't come to visit since he was born," Arwing lamented.
"He's been performing more locally as of late," Adrian agreed. "The kids not old enough to travel, and he refuses to leave Krystal behind."
"Can you show us inside?" Maston interrupted, and Adrian grinned.
"Of course. Follow me." He guided them down a long hall, past the glass doors to the library. There they were joined by Emmaris, wearing a simple tunic and ink-splattered spectacles. He smiled and embraced both quickly before continuing on to the lounge.

Inside, Arwing could only gasp with wonder at the sight. In the center of the room was a long table, set with places for each guest to come. A card with their names was set before each plate, bearing the titles of each and beside it, a wrapped box with a bow. Arranged around the table were various couches and chairs, and in one corner was the largest Christmas tree she'd ever seen. It reached to the ceiling, where it was topped by an angel of Saradomin. Hanging from every limb were assortments of ornaments, of all colors, shapes, and sizes. Small orbs, little wooden soldiers, angels...it was beautiful.
"Arwing!" She tore her eyes away to greet the Queen.
"Your Majesty," she murmured with Maston, and curtsied gracefully as he bowed. Rivera smiled and gestured for them to rise.
"Im so glad you could make it. The journey was safe, I hope?"
"Just long." Maston grinned. Rivera wore a long white ballgown, accented by jewels of various colors in the earrings, necklaces, and bracelets she wore. Her fiery hair curled down on all sides, framing her narrow face.
They all turned as Kzahar approached with Lil on his arm. Greetings were once again shared. "How's Ardounge?" Kzahar asked of Maston, while Rivera, Arwing, and Lil chatted to one side.
"Good. Rivera keeps me busy, though. But the city's doing well."
"Dont complain," Kzahar laughed. "I'd love a castle to sit around in all day."
Maston punched his arm. "You cant complain either, you should have had one. But you chose a little smithy in Lumbridge."
"And I've never been happier," Kzahar agreed. "Oh look, here comes Bond!"
Adrian bowed them through the doorway. "May I have the honor of presenting," he began, struggling to keep a straight face, "Sir Bond Cornerstone, Miss Krystal Cornerstone, and last but not least, the young Sir Cornerstone!"
The baby in Krystal's arms gurgled happily, and everyone laughed. "His name is Paul," Krystal announced.
"He's gorgeous!" exclaimed Arwing.

Kzahar clapped for attention. "Now that we're all here, can we eat?"
They claimed their places around the table, but Rivera halted them. "Before we sit, I would like to thank you all for coming. It is truly a gift that we are all here, healthy and happy. It's going to be a merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas," they toasted, and drank from their glasses of wine. Little Paul Cornerstone giggled and squirmed in Krystal's lap and they ate beside the Christmas tree, and outside the snow continued to fall. **
"Arwing?"
"What?"
Maston stroked her cheek and looked at her. "You okay? We need to get back out there."
She sighed and nodded. "I was just thinking of better days, that's all."
His eyes were full of sympathy as he helped her to her feet. "We'll be all right," he promised. As they ran back out into the courtyard, her head was filled with Christmas songs, and laughter, and the fading image of a beautiful Christmas tree.
