Mining, fun fun
You have what you need covered pretty much. Dragon pickaxe will be handy for sure, and with a large goal it could be worth looking into getting one fairly soon as the difference adds up eventually. On the other hand, with prices fluctuating a lot you could argue to just wait until they drop a bit, and in any case there are a fair few people who have went to 99 and beyond using Rune (or the Adze).
I haven't bothered with the gilded equipment purely because I'm not keen on quests. Most people who do use it seem to have got it by training at the Lava mines before they could access the Living Rock Caverns, or just like the look of it. If you enjoy the Lava mine anyway then you might as well go for it.
Making a new thread or not is up to you. Going back to 2006 plenty of separate threads were made for each goal a person had regardless of the length; whether it was something like 85 Slayer for Abyssals or 200M Runecrafting for insanity. Some people prefer to create new ones after a certain point because they may feel that they are changing too much from what it was originally. I always tend to enjoy longer threads with multiple goals set and achieved through them, as for sure there's some nostalgia about it.
Well done for your recent achievements, all the best with Mining, and look out for the new fireworks once you make the fantastic Farming milestone
