Throughout my years of playing, I have achieved quite a lot of things: Some of those things were meeting new people, while others were achieving a goal/setting one.
I believe now that my time has come though, to just simply move on. I have been thinking about this for quite sometime now, perhaps about a month or so to be honest with you. I recently told friends about me leaving this game, and many have asked me the same questions: "How come/WHY/what will you do next/will you come back?" Etc. I have my reasons for leaving and I will explain why, however, part of me still will never know why.
Some people don't understand why I am leaving, while others were actually sympathetic with me and said they understood, which I find grand.
I have played this game for 5 years now, (started in 2006 sometime during the summer) and have continued to play ever since. This game has indeed changed me, not because of the game content, but because of the friends I have made and my achievements and all of those frustrating times.
What are my achievements you say? Well take a walk down memory lane with me my friend.....

• 99 Fishing - (24,666,655):
Ah, I remember the good 'ol fishing days. Back in world 76 fishing guild you would find a tight group of friends, or people, but some of us, or the majority of the group became good friends.
It was back in 2007-2008 when I started fishing at that guild, I have spent many late nights there, chatting with friends, seeing people argue, or having a party. It took me a year and a half to achieve my fishing cape, becuase I fished nothing but swordfish/tuna and sharks from time to time. When Barbarian Fishing came out, I went straight to Otto and gained the ability to handfish, which I thought was awesome.
Pretty much half of my friend's list is from that guild, and some even still play. The reason why it took me a year and a half was because I didn't want to fish anything else, and in the end, it was very beneficial.
Achieved: June 2008.

• 99 Cooking (23,292,092):
I ahieved 99 Cooking from pretty much all of those fish I fished. I was a DIYer. ;) In fact, I ahieved 99 Cooking first before fishing and then went off from there. I just kept cooking/fishing all of my fish and got it from that. Isn't it great to spend no money?
Achieved: March 2008.

• 99 Fletching (13,920,288):
I achieved this with a friend of mine because I thought it would be kind of cool to achieve something with a friend of mine at the same time, which was pretty neat. :P We had the same friends pretty much, so quite a few friends were there.
Achieved: January 2009.

• 99 Defense (21,104,290):
I have always liked defense, reason being is because it protects you from getting hit constantly, however, I put a twist into achieving this: I wanted to do nothing but slay, slay, slay to achieve it. So I did.. Killing countless of monsters and gaining a few HP levels in the process and completely neglecting att/str because they were pretty much useless to me.
Achieved: August 2009.

• 99 Farming (30,016,030):
Since I'm a nature freak I pretty much loved to farm, however, I went about the slowest way possible to achieve this. In doing so, I planted nothing but herbs, marigolds, berries, a calquat tree, cactus, and willow trees. I did no fruit trees and gathered the willow branches from my willow trees to earn a little extra cash in the process, which added up in the end.
Achieved: January 2010.

~~
Now on to this thread:
99 Slayer was always a personal achievement of mine because it is horribly slow and the fact that it takes a long time to level, including the way I was going to achieve it. I planned on achieving this by Ranging/Maging my tasks as I have said. A lot of my friends have 99 slayer and they were the ones who encouraged me to do so, but I was the one who wanted to achieve it this way.
Overall: 23 TOTAL levels gained
Overall: 58 SLAYER tasks done
^ That is quite the achievement only in a few months time.

• Beating Nomad:
I have tried countless of times to beat one of the TOUGHEST bosses in RuneScape, and doing so I have failed, but never gave up. Watching Youtube videos and reading guides seemed to help me the most. The feeling of success and having my heart pounding and just that feeling of beating "something" and knowing his tactics and strategy/weaknesses was jubilant.
Achieved: February 2011.

Over the course of playing, I have met some pretty awesome people, some have changed me, while others have made me think about myself and my actions.
When I was going to achieve 99 slayer through range and neglecting att/str I had about two-three of my level 138 friends tell me that you will regret it in the end. I just ignored that statement and said in my mind that I have NO REGRETS whatsoever, and since they were maxed, they didn't understand what it was like to achieve this, but I DO understand their point: You won't get the "full" experience of having all combat stats at 99, but that wasn't even within my intentions of doing so.
I have been asked advice from people over the years, some being on fishing/cooking and others were farming and slayer, even Nomad advice BEFORE I have even beat him. I have even been asked just general advice about real life. I don't know why people come to me for advice, I don't have all of the answers, but I do have experience, which is where advice comes from, your own experiences.
~~
My friends have changed me, personally, and mentally. I can't thank EACH friend individually, but I will tell you this:
Thanks for being there for me, whether it was a laugh to share, a memory, music interests and having a discussion on certain topics. I hope I have left something in your back pocket as well. ;)
I hope to stay in contact with a lot of you, but I know that won't happen, it's not always possible to stay with a friend for years, but sometimes it is best to just remember a friend for what they have changed in you......

.... As you can see I am quite the achievement seeker. I pretty much have challenge as my primary motivator, my secondary is myself and you guys.
I have a high need for achievement, not to have a "cool" cape, but to achieve my greatest potential. To achieve a better "me" as you say, (or competence). I don't care for power, or affiliation. All I care about is to see WHAT I am capable of achieving! I could care less about skill capes in general / experience / ranking - they mean NOTHING to me!
You don't HAVE to achieve a goal all the way, you can go as long as you want UNTIL you FEEL as if you have achieved enough, a fulfillment. I did not give up on my goals, that is not the reason why I am leaving, I am leaving because I am fulfilled with my achievements and wish to seek more challenges and see what MORE I am capable of.
Friends have asked me if there is something that will make me stay, I am afraid that there is not. I am somewhat not leaving this game completely because of my friends, 'tis why I choose to still log in and chat with you all.
Some people may still not understand after reading this, while others may see me in a new perspective. You may be wondering about the title of this thread then, what is your journey to a neat cape? *gestures* THIS. You are reading MY journey over the years, I guess you could say that I have achieved an invisible cape that I wear with pride, a cape of competence.
I am quite happy with my choice and I hope to see that you understand. I HAVE come quite a long way. If you don't see that, then stop reading or just get out.
So, what am I going to do next? Simple, I plan on focusing on my school work and procrastinate a little.. I'm not going to burn this old bridge down, I am just turning toward a new path that will bring me more greatness than this bridge that I have walked on for years. I will still walk on this bridge and remember the good times I have had, and remember those little holes where wood has rotted away.

..... My journey here is now complete, I feel happy and confident now that I am here and it was ALL very worth it in the end. With The Devil at My Heels urging me to run forward, I WILL run forward becuase there is still Life Left To Go.

P.S.
(I know this message is ridiculously long, but I just have a lot to say and it feels GREAT to finally speak my mind!)
(Also at that last sentence, the capital letters signify a book and a song. ONE is a book, another is a song, good luck decoding them. ;) Plus, I think they fit quite well with the closing statement.)
P.S.S.
This is not a joke!!!! Go figure I just HAD to write this on April fools day. -.-

I also cancelled my membership on Tuesday, but I have until the end of April until my membership officially runs out. May just get on to chat/ sell things.
I hope you all got to find something more about Neat. :) After all, I am a "Neat" person. ;) If you haven't noticed I have quite a good memory, which is a gift and a curse sometimes.

Hah, I forgot it was April Fools day....

Anyways, g'luck mi amiga on whatever you do. I understand quitting for the most part. I've been throwing around the idea for quite a while too, and I still don't have an answer.. guess I'll find out after my Attack is finished.

But yeah, you have achieved quite a bit, and I'm glad to have met you.

Friends really are the biggest reason to play Runescape, and I'm glad you're one of them.

Not really sure what else to say, so I'ma end the post here.
