07/07 - Did the Castlewars Beta event for the first part of the Steampunk outfit.
On Rell it was great to be able to participate without gaining hp xp. I went as a ranger, managed to get 1 kill lol. I'm not so sure whether the gaining no combat xp, is normal for Castlewars, as I haven't played in years tbh.
On Peq, I also went as a ranger, found duel wielding quite slow, but no sure if that was due to lag or what. We won our game, and I could buy the 500 game cape. Unfortunately, away from Beta, I couldn't get, as I had no points lol.
Ok, have found a thread where some of the posters have tested some aspects of the Dwarf multicannon in Beta. QFC: 303-304-161-63846929.

HP 10: "So what you're saying is we have to mark a target to get full xp since the cannon cannot mark it for us? That sounds like either a glitch or a measure to prevent one person from marking everything since it is now multiway everywhere.
Edit: I went and tested on the Ogres near Og'log, marking each one before my cannon did much damage. At the end of every kill, with me hitting 0's to mark them, I was getting 5 ranged xp and 15-18 hp xp. To be honest, the cannon just sounds a bit glitched at the moment."
08/07 - Have a family celebration to attend today.
After getting back home, I started my mission of 99 Range.

Weekly Log 09/07/2012 - 15/07/2012
09/07 - Achieved 86 Range. I am cannoning fire elementals, as they are low level, multi, and drop a good amount of herbs, charms and runes. Got some nice row drops, namely uncut dragonstone, and 16x clean torstol.
10/07 - Ranging with cannon, trying to do at least 100k xp a day. Got another 2x uncut dragonstone drops, and some rune javelins lol.
11/07 - Had a lot of issues staying logged in today. Was constant "Lost connection", on Peq. When I attempted to log in on Rell, made it to lobby, then kept getting booted to log in page . When I did eventually get in game, I found out I had died lol. Lost my herbicide , along with other gear including 6k cannonballs. Herbicide won't be replaced any time soon, as I need to duo with a combat based person, have replaced the other items. Also lost the last few hours of drops: charms/runes etc. I think I must have fallen asleep while ranging *shrugs*.
So not a lot of ranging got done today, busy irl etc.
Waited up for the Gielinor Games update, did the 3 preparation tasks in Varrock square.

Didn't receive any xp for making the medals, griders or food *shrugs*.
12/07 - Clan citadel and mining today.
13/07 - Finished up mining, slowly get closer to that mining level. Superheated all the rune and addy ores mined. Mith still to finish off.
Took some time out to visit the ge in Worlds 1-20, crazy amount of ad bots, at least 10+ in Worlds 1-10 . Plus some ad bots usernames were actually what they were advertising. Surely Jagex can remove such names from being made?
14/07 - Finished up the mith ores, all bars price checked at 3.5mil, so nice profit . Started back on Ranging, have "wasted" enough time this week lol.

It's hard to take a great deal out of the EoC Beta exp rates right now which is a shame, for example there have been tests with Slayer gaining more or less 10k exp/hour, using overloads, cannons, prayers etc. I'd presume it's subject to change since it was suggested that the particular example of Slayer itself would be quicker than it is currently, but it's hard to say without any confirmation/unless it actually is seen to change.
Shame about people trying to interrupt Firemaking, but there are people like that all around RS. Some are genuinely just trying to stop bots though presumably, but it's a pain in those circumstances for the actual people there.

@ iBig City, thanks for the support.
@ Steven, I see the Jagex has recently updated Beta, a few good things have come from that, from what I have read. The cannon is still functioning the same way in Beta, no changes there, so will continue my goal of 99 Range for now. Everything else is on hold.
I do hope that "veteran" players do find some good in this update. Currently I have several maxed combat friends who say they will need to quit, would be a shame to see them left with no reason but to leave . Some I have known on RuneScape for over 5 years.

15/07 - Ranging with cannon, close to 87 Range now . Achieved 67 Defence, 8 levels to go before I can wear my Bandos when EoC updates. Achieved 87 Range .

A lot of people seem to be comparing the EoC to other games (e.g. WoW), haven't really seen any others though so I can't compare. From what I've tried it's not really interesting at all, just different. If it is true that it's similar (not the same) to some other games, with the new advertising etc I presume it's just an attempt to bring new players to the game with many already unhappy over previous updates such as SoF, maybe armour, or just general lack of solving the botting issues, etc. Sorry to hear you know several people leaving
As for Range, plenty of people just tend to use cannons or chinchompas as the primary Ranging method, which presumably wasn't originally intended. They weren't taking into account the 13HP pro's though
Shame about the death, but you're still making great progress, keep it up

@ Steven, The combat mechanics are similar to WoW, I occasionally play it, so can see the comparison. I can see why it is being done though, it is an attempt to bring new players into RuneScape as you said. Unfortunately, it will also make some players leave RuneScape. Hopefully it will all balance out with time.
Lol, I realise that Jagex didn't design the cannon to be used for us low hp accounts, but the beauty of it, was the fact that there was no hp gain at all when using. Oh well, I will adapt to change, as I have done over the years .
Dying in RuneScape is never "fun" for me lol. I try my hardest not too. Falling asleep when ranging with a cannon, is not a good idea .

16/07 - Still having problems with the "Lost Connection", so not safe to continue ranging at the moment. Decided to run some Lvl1 clue scrolls. H.A.M's are a great source, and can offer some great rewards, for little effort. Well not little effort, but the clues take 5-10mins to complete, and you could get a Zammy page. Alas, the best I got was a white beret lol.
Did get overly distracted by the Solomon's General Store update. Watched comments pouring in on the forums, a lot of negativity, as normal . But I guess the lack of threads/posts by Jagex, concerning it, did not help. So really did not achieve much.
It did overshadow the 10 year vet cape. CONGRATS VETS!
17/07 - Was kind of busy in real life, so not a great amount of scaping done today. One thing I always manage to do, is a small selection of Dailies. Wicked hood, Jack of All Trades aura, and the Gielinor Games preparation.
Pure essence, death runes and free nature altar teleports from Wicked hood (138 nature runes per invo, double nats ftw).
Jack of All Trades aura, at the moment xp reward goes on defence.
