The lengend begins!

Yesterday I started my journey to the top, it all started with a conception to plan out my first four skills that i will level to 99. Those skills will be fletching, herblore, firemaking, and woodcutting in no particular order. Currently I am funding my 99s with tanning various types of dragon hides at the portable crafters until i can find something better to earn gp. I don't play much Runescape daily but if i can earn a few mil everyday tanning hides that adds up overtime, patience will be my greatest virtue playing Runescape. Especially early on! Anyways, here's a few screenshots I took for my first day of the grind.

Here I began my first ever citadel cap, I had to screenshot this for the scrapbook! This is the beggining of my journey to 120 woodcutting

Grandpa got his first cap, was pretty excited about uploading my first cap. Also this cap got me to 27 wc.

Another exciting moment! The start of my long journey to 120 fire making, I can't wait to look back on these in retrospect!

Movin on up to the oaks!

Grandpa is walloping some willows!

At level 45 firemaking now, which means its all maples to 99! I'm ready for the good grind, lets get it!

Thats right ladies and gentlemen I just hit the total level 100 milestone! Oh, and look! I got my first official fan cheering me on... time to sit back, pour a glass of prune juice, and grind firemaking out! Enjoy the show folks because my journey is only beginning!

Scrapbook entry #2

All work and no play makes Grandpa a dull geezer

It's official! Grandpa is going for 99 herblore first, with my order in the Grand Exchange that will contain my supplies to 99 herblore now all I have to do is wait... but Grandpa can't just sit around and do nothing. He needs to keep busy until his supplies come in for 99 Herblore. Let's see what he has been up to.

Covid-19 is in full effect! Even in the world of Gielinor it's very important to practice social distancing.

I might be old and a noob but I was still one of the first people to cap this week :)

There will be no Yak track for grandpa, these get in the way of my skilling plans and my journey to the top. Sure they help me get there faster but time isn't a huge worry for me.

When Grandpa isn't grinding skills he's grinding at work tanning hides for his Runescape currency, grandpa needs to chill a little bit, but not before he...

Gets 50 Firemaking! Our Geriatric adventurer is shaking up the narrative for Runescape noobies! It's time to go out and celebrate!

With Firemaking up to 50 and Grandpas 99 Herblore supplies well on their way its only a matter of time until they arrive in the Grand Exchange and Grandpa obtains his first 99 skill cape, but before the supplies arrive Grandpa wants to go party like it's 1899! When will the supplies arrive? How wild is this party going to be? Can Grandpa handle the pleasures of Gielinor? Keep an eye on this thread, there's no telling what is coming next in the world of GrandpaNite!

I don't know why, but I'm loving this thread!! Keep it up, gramps!!

Thank you for stopping in, I’m glad you enjoy it. More to come soon. Runescape is such an awesome game, so I really enjoy doing this. I only wish I started years ago when I first saw it so I could’ve grown with the game, better late than never though right? Take care.

Scrapbook entry #3

Grandpa's Fury

Our geriatric adventurer is ready to bring down the world of Gielinor when he takes a long hike from lumbridge to "Barbarian outpost" to see what a barbarians life is like.

Grandpa wants to bring down Runescape barbarian style ;) Like it was way back in the day!

Grandpa's lineage is thrown into question, and our adventurer tries to reason with the barbarian but the barbarian tells grandpa he can't partake in the merriment behind the gate...

Grandpa unleashes his Fury and gives the discriminating barbarian a piece of his mind!

The barbarians mood quickly changes! The hate turns to a smile as the barbarian nearly soils his loincloth.

With the disrespect thrown grandpas way it's about time to show the world that you can't tell a geriatric what they can and can't do! This is grandpas first quest and he will accomplish it with pride and extreme prejudice to prove a point to the world of Gielinor/Runescape!

As our geriatric adventurer goes to complete his first quest Grandpa gets an update from his Grand Exchange account!

What's this? Could it be?!? His package? Has it arrived? We must postpone this adventure for another day... you can't party when you have perfectly good supplies to obtain 99 herblore waiting on you! It appears the party will have to wait :( As the sunsets and grandpa takes a long walk home he swears when the 99 herblore cape is complete that he will show the world that the age of 54 isn't a death sentence to have one last hurrah. You can't keep a good man down!

Back to work!

Grandpa has a brand new bag! A swanky lab suit with "upper crust of society" written all over it!

Grandpas alchemy begins with attack potions, lots of volatile potion making! Here we are at 17 herblore.

One does not simply mix chocolate dust into a potion.

30 and 40 herblore respectively, this is just the beginning.

I ranked up in EXCALIBURZ... the clan name is changing soon though. More reflections on my clan experience in my next post!

The EXCALIBURZ as of this picture (not this post!) are tier 3 and I'm loving the new ways to contribute to this clan :)

Oh, and the best kept secret of Runescape? Our geriatric adventurer is now 55 firemaking! Brings me back to the days of the eagle scouts ;)

Public service announcement to those in clans: Don't forget to cap ;)

New gameplan folks! From here forward I will utilize the citadel of the EXCALIBURZ to get to 99 firemaking. Here we see Grandpa get 60 firemaking.

Did I mention I love capping?

The grind is real folks and summer is coming! But before that a few crucial updates tomorrow, stay tuned fans.

Scrapbook entry #5 Data Entry part 1

This is a data entry post, unlike my other posts data entry posts will not contain screenshots and on top of that data entry posts will be posted very sparingly so when you see a data entry post you will know its regarding something very significant in my journey. Within my scrapbook i emphasize screenshots and story telling to give insight on my progress, data entry posts (when posted) emphasize goal updates, clan updates, and xp methods i'm using more in depth than usual. Mostly anything along those lines. I'll be posting my methods and strategies used to get to 99/120 skill after i achieve said level. For instance I'll take time to elaborate/reflect after said achievement.

Clan update one month later (EXCALIBURZ)

Tomorrow will be my one month anniversary in EXCALIBURZ and my experience has been an interesting one, the clan is dedicated to capping, being a friendly environment, and largely has regular events among other things. They state their goals and largely stick to them. As a skiller however I don't feel alot of what they do cater to me, considering most of them are higher levels this isn't a bad thing... they do plenty of bossing plus plenty of other high level content. I'm not big on events that deviate me from my goals or don't coincide with how i play Runescape so there is no doubt that's a factor in my experience too. I'm a skiller for now first and foremost, I have a plan and I'm sticking to it so my stubborn game plan is something to consider as well.

One downside though is this clan seem to have elements of cliques involved, while not a toxic clan by any means i find the members more responsive to some folks more than others. Intentional or not this is something I don't care for and is something that definitely isn't inclusive. I doubt i'll be here much longer.

EXCALIBURZ will reach tier 7 and I think will be a clan of high value methinks but I'm definitely not digging the clique vibes so my time here is borrowed. I hold no malice or hard feelings toward this group but it's not for me. What I value in a clan going forward will be inclusion and feel good vibes. Emphasizing on citadel contribution is important but not a primary trait I want in a clan in addition to clan events. Given this is my first real clan experience I'm sure some of this is definitely subject to change.

Summer Beach Event!!!

This will be my first Runescape event and I'm very excited to be a apart of this, I've witnessed so many Runescape events when my son played including various Easter, Christmas, Halloween, thanksgiving, and other events but this will be my first I've partaken in! I've done research in the past on this event and its my intention that if they have a construction spot to build sandcastles I'll focus on that the entire summer seeing as construction is an expensive skill to 99. Runescape is much like my wife of 36 years, its another love (although not on a mass scale like her ;) ) I'll be posting my entire reflection on this event at its conclusion and of course will add lots of pictures to my scrapbook from the event :D

Thanks for reading my first data entry post! It was a true pleasure to share my personal experiences in depth with my readers :)
