My Thoughts/Feelings on Maxing/getting 2500+ Total Level

Before I begin, I just want to say that, if you are going to comment on what I am about write - to please respect me and my feelings. I am a human being with feelings, just like everyone else. Also, this is my G&A thread and I am here openly sharing my thoughts and feelings with all of you. All I'm asking in return is, that you respect me. Like the old saying goes: if you don't have anything nice to say, then please don't say anything at all.

So, some of you might be aware that my motivation for this game hasn't been the best since Saturday after achieving 99 Ranged.

The truth is... after having a conversation with one of my friends I realized he is right in saying that I have hit a wall in my journey now so far. I know I have come a long way since I returned to playing this game in April 2014. I have gained over 300+ levels, achieved nine 99 skills and really, made some amazing and unbelievably fast progress in the span of the last five months or so. I never thought (when I first came back) that I would make it so far and in so little time. And honestly, I couldn't have done it without this thread, without this community's support, as well as the support of many in-game friends and my wonderful clanmates in Lucidity Devotion.

Basically, I've come to the point in this game where I've gotten 99 in almost all the skills that I enjoy training (aside from 99 herblore & summoning which I'm still working on getting). Now I am left with all the skills that I don't really care much for/not overly excited about training. I think this is part of it but also as I get to the higher levels (90+) the difference in between levels also become steeper, thus making the levels or the "grind"

(I hate to use this word but in all honesty, I think that's what most people see this game as - mostly the skills are a grind) seem even more unbearable.

Personally, I don't think I am the kind of person to give up so easily... I'm not like that in real life and this also applies when it comes to Runescape. I believe that I will reach my goals in the end but for now, I think this post is helping me to vent off some of my frustrations...

As I said earlier about hitting a wall... it is that realization that I have come so far but yet, I still have so much to do.... so much left in front of me. As my friend said, it is quite daunting. And also a bit disheartening when I look ahead and see I still have some of my most dreaded skills to train and level to 99. It's just.. UGGGH -.-!!!

With all that being said though, I still have my eyes on that Max Cape some time next year (hopefully!). I am going to continue my journey and this probably isn't the last time you'll hear me vent... but please, please bare with me.

For the time being, I am still trying to re-gain my motivation as well as figure out what I'll do next in terms of in-game progress.

Thanks for reading my little "ranty" post...I hope you all understand and will respond appropriately.

First off, congratulations again on 99 Ranged - you did really well achieving it and it is well earned :) as well as every other level and xp milestone accomplished last week!

Also, very nice work on acquiring all those spirit gems for summoning, they'll definitely come in handy when the time comes :D ! I'd be happy as well! :P
In addition, glad to hear you're enjoying elf city and the content that you're able to access so far! I'm sure you'll enjoy the rest as you unlock further access :) but for now I'm sure the new Slayer master is keeping you company ;)

Now...

I'll be honest through this response and start off by saying that "You can't have a journey without distractions." The farther you get down the road to the finish line the more red lights you'll hit, sometimes we're able to speed through them and sometimes we get halted, this happens and I can guarantee there isn't a G&A'er that has completed a top-tier goal without a red light (distraction or halt), guarantee it, I'm sure anyone that posts would agree.

So, first off - don't be ashamed If you hit a wall, it's a wall and with enough motivation it can be easily broken - even If a lunch break is needed to be taken.

You're right in which you've done an amazing job with the leveling and your personal goals up to this point and I know you will continue to do so as you progress along your journey.

The levels can seem overwhelming but they're just levels, just keep your mind set on the goal at hand and the levels go by :) You're dedicated towards what you set yourself is enough on its on (it's truly amazing your passion towards them :) ) and breaks are never a bad thing, everyone needs them as a car needs gas, then before you know it you're back on the road to your next achievement.

So, I guess If it's not gotten across yet - it's just a wall and there's multiple ways to get around one; walk around it, climb it or demolish it, either way it's a wall - a distraction, they happen and they shouldn't be ashamed of, you'll get there .. just focus on what's infront of you, not what's ahead - leave it as a mystery and just let things flow .. either way you'll get there :)

After all, a wall is just a pit-stop ;)

...

Well there's my post, I know you'll continue to impress and persevere through all distraction that arise, don't be ashamed to rest .. there's always room to get back up on your feet and continue :)

Always here If you need, best of luck on everything as always :)

Congrats once again on 99 ranged! Another huge accomplishment :D . Well done on all of the gem mining as well, you will certainly save a lot of money/charm gathering with that ^_^ . Congrats on all of the other lvls and abyssal wand drop as well!

As for the rest of your post, here's my opinion. It's hard to put so much time into a game/character (or anything really) and then all of a sudden feel like hitting the brakes, so I totally understand. There's no need to feel ashamed about hitting "the wall" though. This game is best played when you're taking your time and enjoying yourself, not when you're on an endless grind to achieve some levels. When you start getting frustrated, a break can definitely help. Motivation will come again once you come back :)

And to re-iterate, this is a game after all, so remember to have fun and everything else will fall into place. In any case, whatever it is you decide you'll always have my full support :)

Hey Haha :)

First off, congrats on 99 range! Yet another 99 skill out of the way :) Sorry that I missed it and am so late in congratulating you. Haven't been keeping up with the forums much so tbh I didn't even realize you were getting it when you did. But well done :) Also.. glad you are liking Elf City. I definitely will have to check it out. Maybe if you're not busy one day you could show me all the cool stuff it has it offer?

As for your motivation...

You should be so proud of what you have accomplished so far. You are honestly the fastest person I know to have achieved everything you have since coming back. There's no shame in taking a bit of a break or relaxing some. This game is supposed to be fun so don't push yourself to the point where you no longer enjoy it anymore. You could always try training a skill a little at a time and then switching over to another or something. Or maybe even cut your hours that you spend playing each day. Sometimes we just need a break (Mot is a great example :P ). You just have to do what's best for you. We know you will achieve your goals one day, it doesn't have to be tomorrow so just remember that :)

Hey all :) !
First off, huge thank you to Chronostasis, War Clan0, and Semp for posting. All your posts mean a lot to me and I am very appreciative of all the support you guys offer me. Thank you!!! *hugs to all <3*

You guys are right to say that it's no shame to "hit a wall" and I don't think I'm ashamed of it at all. I only wrote those two posts to share my thoughts and feelings and you guys, as my friends, you guys deserve to know. Writing those two posts really helped me a lot to process what I was thinking and feeling, as well as putting my feelings into words.

War Clan, you're right to say I should be having fun when I play this game... truthfully I wasn't at first (after I got 99 Ranged) but now, after a few days of thinking/planning, I am now enjoying myself again ^_^ . I know what I want to do for the next 4 weeks or so. I just love when I have "a plan". It really helps keep me motivated... more about that later.

But once again, thank so much for the support guys & gals. It's greatly appreciated!!

As I mentioned above, I have a plan of what I want to do in the next 4 weeks or so before Double XP weekend. In a nutshell though, my plan is basically to get level 90+ in 25/26 of my skills (excluding Divination). My reason for excluding Divination is simple: because it is so slow to train and I'd rather not waste my time on this skill at the moment. Well, I guess it's not really a "waste of time", but I just don't feel like I want to spend my time training Divination at this point in time.

Hopefully I will have 90 Smithing, Mining, Woodcutting, and Hunter by the time Double XP weekend rolls around. We'll see how this goes!

I also plan to use up the 750k bonus xp I have on the Summoning skill, so I will be getting 94 Summoning some time soon. :) Also I bought enough oak planks for 90 Construction today, so it will be one of three skills I will be training on November 1st/2nd. The other two skills being Herblore and Summoning, of course.

Anyhow, you can check these
two posts
for my progress on achieving 90+ all skills (minus Divination).

I realize this week isn't over just yet... still got the weekend :P but going to do this early. Here is
previous week's progress
and up-coming week's progress will be on next post.

Till next time...
