I decided to try some challenges for fun.

Flipping from 1 GP to 100M GP challenges, but with different methods.

The rules are my own, and subject to change if I don't like how it is going, or I might give up if I hate it. I'm partly doing this for fun, and partly to try to get myself into earning GP through flipping more consistently, so hopefully I'll stick with it.
Hi.

Ladder Flipping Challenge:

Imagine it as a ladder, and the bottom run of the ladder is 1 GP, and the top run of the ladder is 100 million GP.

GP used does not have to come from the challenge, you can use as much as you have available for this challenge. The limit for this challenge is only on how much GP you can offer per item.

To begin you are limited to offering a maximum of 1 GP per item, but you may buy as many different items as you want and can currently afford and you may use as many GE slots as you have available on one account, however you may only buy and sell through the GE, no using shops to buy or sell items, and no trading other accounts, and no getting items from anywhere other than your trades on the GE. You also may not alter any items you get and must sell them unchanged from how you bought them.

You then try to sell what you bought for a profit, increasing how much you are allowed to offer for buying more items. Your maximum buy offers per item are always limited to the highest price you sold an item for within the challenge.

You are not allowed to use other accounts, be it your account or someone else's account, to buy or sell items to help the account you are doing the challenge on. The trades should be done anonymously through the GE without you knowing who you are buying from or selling to.

Beginning with offers of 1 GP, the goal is to eventually sell an item or stack of items for 100 million GP or more.

A stack of items can be used to move up in value, it doesn't have to be a single item. This should make it easier because sometimes its really hard to find anything between two specific prices.

Good luck!

Thank you! Its going to be really slow at first, after I get to offer 100 GP per item I think it will be faster.

GE Slots Challenge:

I will begin with only one GP and one GE slot. After earning 10 GP I will unlock the next GE slot, and each next GE slot unlocks at 10 times the GP as the previous GE slot.

GE Slot 1: Unlocks at 1 GP
GE Slot 2: Unlocks at 10 GP
GE Slot 3: Unlocks at 100 GP
GE Slot 4: Unlocks at 1000 GP
GE Slot 5: Unlocks at 10,000 GP
GE Slot 6: Unlocks at 100,000 GP
GE Slot 7: Unlocks at 1,000,000 GP
GE Slot 8: Unlocks at 10,000,000 GP
The challenge ends when you reach 100 million GP.

All items and GP, other than the first 1 GP must come from trading through the GE. I may only use 1 GP and one GE slot at the beginning, and I must gain GP and unlock more GE slots through earning profits. The hardest part is getting the first item and turning a profit from it. Once I have more GP and more GE slots unlocked, it should get easier. Once I unlock a GP amount, I may use that GP in any of the GE slots I have unlocked. For example once I have 10 GP, I may use that GP in GE slots 1 and 2, and so on.

Ladder Flipping Challenge:

First item:

At first I tried to stick to one GE slot, and planned to unlock slots as I went, but this was taking too long so I changed from limiting how many GE slots I was using to limiting how much I could offer per item to 1 GP each until I sell something for a profit, then I will increase how much I can offer per item based on profits made.

I am trading only through the GE, not trading other players directly or using any shops for this challenge.

Trying to buy swamp paste for 1 GP.
Cancelled, trying Juju vial.
Cancelled, trying Druid's robe (bottom)
Cancelled, trying vial (empty)

OK, its taking forever to get a first item, so I am relaxing the rules and allowing more slots to find a first item. Instead of limiting myself to 1 GE slot, I'll limit myself to 1 GP spent each on the first items, until something sells for a profit.

Bought Team-2 cape 1 GP. Attempting to sell.
Bought Team-4 cape 1 GP each x38. Attempting to sell.

Team-2 cape sold for 2 GP overnight, took a long time. I can now offer 2 GP per item.
Bought a vial for 2 GP
Disassembled the team-4 capes because they wouldn't sell.
Bought grey wolf fur 2 GP each, sold for 90 GP each, so I can offer up to 90 GP each on items now.

Bought 5 garden pie 50 GP each, sold 90 each

I'm trying a lot of different offers, but only listing successful buys or sells, there are a lot of items I tried but wouldn't buy. I'm usually not going to bother to leave offers longer than overnight if they don't buy or sell by then.

Bought 20,000 raw tuna 90 each sold 97 each
Bought 100 willow seeds 90 each sold for 96 each, I can offer up to 96 GP each on items now.

Bought Grimy Harralander 96 GP
sold 108 GP each

Bought 4 Tarromin potion (unf) 51 GP
Bought Grimy Harralander 108 each/sold 125 each
Sold Tarromin potion (unf) 54 each
Bought Yak Tuft 34 GP
Test bought/sold a death rune 96/109

Continued...

Very good luck to you!!! Will have to keep an eye on your thread, but be careful you may find a good market which you wont want to share like I have, I've made like 5m now
feel free to add me :)

Thank you.

I'm not too worried about sharing what items I flip at these early stages, and I'll probably be changing items frequently.

And if I really don't want to share an item I can just list the prices the items bought and sold at, which might be a good idea if I do want to keep something secret that is doing well for me, but that wouldn't come until higher prices than what I'm at now.

Who knows, maybe I'll try a challenge where I can alter the items at some point, such as turning pure ess into runes, or filling empty bottles with water, or cleaning herbs. That would probably be a lot easier for making profit. I might do something like that on a F2P account, but probably not right now, and it would of course have to be F2P items if I used a F2P account, for now I'm using members accounts though, and might stick to that, I don't want to do too many accounts or too many challenges at once.

GE Slots challenge:
Begins on this post.

Beginning with one GP and only one GE slot unlocked.

Trying to buy a grey wolf fur for 1 GP.
Cancelled grey wolf fur offer since it didn't buy overnight.
Offering 1 GP for an empty vial.
Cancelled vial, trying empty Juju vial.
Trying plant pot with compost
Trying Ogre coffin key
OK I'm just going to try team capes until one instant buys.
Tried team-1 fail
Bought team-2 cape for 1 GP, now I just need to wait for it to sell for 2 GP or more, if it ever does sell.
Abandoning the team-2 cape, and trying to buy something else.
Tried a few other things, nothing bought yet. I might just wait on an empty vial to buy for 1 GP and stop changing things and just try to be patient. It would be a lot easier of course if I used more than 1 GE slot, but then I would be using more than 1 GP, and I'm not going to do that because that would defeat the purpose of the challenge. Part of the lesson here is patience I suppose. And possibly a lesson in futility and wasting time, lol. If it was easy though, it wouldn't be a challenge.
Vial wouldn't buy unbelievably.
Bought Team-9 cape 1 GP. I should have stuck with the team-2 cape, it probably would have sold by now.
Annoyingly, I bought a Krandorian seed for 1 GP and sold it for 27 GP in a different slot, but it doesn't count because I had a team cape in slot 1 for the challenge. Only slot 1 counts for the challenge until I unlock more slots.
Gave up on cape selling for now, trying to buy a Wildblood seed for 1 GP. Cancelled because its going up, changed to Harralander seed. Cancelled its probably not going to buy. Going to try other seeds for about a minute each until I get one.
Bought Asgarnian seed 1 GP. Sold 10 GP, 2nd slot unlocked finally!

Now working with 10 GP.
Bought 5 Team-4 capes 1 GP each sold 2/5 2 GP
Working with 9 GP plus 3 Team-4 capes
Bought 9 vials 1 GP each
Continued.
Hi.

Timed Challenge:

For this I'm just going to try to flip something every 5 minutes. This will get me into flipping items faster, which hopefully will make me more profits. I have a tendency to do slow offers and try to have too large of margins, and end up selling and buying almost nothing, so this will get me into smaller margins but faster profits I think, or it will at least get me to change my offers if they haven't at least started to buy or sell in 5 minutes. I can still do slower trades with larger margins for overnight or when I am going to be logged off for a while. I'll probably limit this to one hour a day, and maybe not do it every day.

Altered Challenge:

Buy an item from the GE, then change it in some way before selling the end product. Examples: Buy seeds and grow them, sell what you grew. Buy uncharged Jewellery, then charge it before selling it. Buy pure essence, then make it into runes, etc.
