Bought Krandorian seed 1 GP each x 100
Planted seeds in 4 hops patches, 16 seeds used
After about 40 minutes, Harvested 77 Krandorian hops
Sold for 2271 each total 174,891 GP, one patch died
Planted more of the seeds. Took closer to an hour to grow I think this time.
Harvested and sold 133 Krandorian hops 2265 each, 301,245 GP
Planted more of the seeds.
Sold another 126 Krandorian hops 2265 each 285,390
Sold 111 more Krandorian hops 2144 each 238,039

Put an offer on GE for 100 more Krandorian seeds, 27 GP each. They wouldn't buy any more after I bought 16 at 27 each. Increased buy offer to 100 each, still wouldn't buy, increased to 1000 each, still wouldn't buy, increased to 2000 each, still wouldn't buy, increased to 2500 each, still wouldn't buy. Moving on to something else. Grew the seeds I had, 2 patches died, Harvested and sold 56 2620 each, 146,720 total. It might be worth pickpocketing seeds to grow more, but they won't count for the challenge if the seeds are obtained from off the GE. Hi.

Sold 9 vials 2 GP each, now working with 18 GP plus 3 Team-4 capes.
Bought one more Team-4 cape 1 GP
Bought 17 Barberry seeds 1 GP each
Sold back the Barberry seeds 1 GP each, because I couldn't get them to sell for 2 GP each after a couple days, and it's really not worth waiting longer for them to possibly never sell. The Team-4 capes wouldn't sell back for even 1 GP each, but I'll leave them on the GE for 50 GP each and see if they sell until I need the 2nd GE slot for something else. It really hard to get past 17 GP when very few things will buy or sell for even 1 GP profit.
Bought 5 bronze bolts (unf) 3 GP each/sold 1 GP each
Giving up on Team-4 cape ever selling even for 1 GP each on the GE.
After a week of trying this, I've concluded it is near impossible to start with 1 GP and ever make any profit using 1 GE slot. I did have a few items buy for 1 GP each in other GE slots, and then sell for a profit, but I didn't count them because I was only counting items in the slots I had unlocked. Trying to buy and sell items on the GE for profit really requires starting with more than 1 GP if you want to get anywhere, unless you are really willing to wait weeks to get something to buy and sell to start.

Well, I did say the rules were subject to change, so I am modifying the rules a little to make this more reasonable to complete.

GE Slots Challenge Attempt Two: This time selling items to shops is allowed.

I will be starting over with 1 GP, but this time I am allowed to sell to shops to get some profit, because its way too slow to get started otherwise.
Bought Team-4 cape 1 GP.
Sold to general store for 15 GP. Slot 2 unlocked.

Bought 11 more Team-4 capes 1 GP each, sold for 15 each to General store. Total 165 GP.
Slot 3 unlocked.
Bought 10 Team-9 capes 1 GP each, =155 GP left, sold to general store 15 each, 155+150=305 GP to work with.

I had a think about the ladder flipping challenge and felt like using GP from outside the challenge felt like cheating, so I want to start over.

Ladder Flipping Challenge second attempt:


Start with 1 GP and buy an item off the GE, then try to sell it for a profit. As you gain more GP, you can buy and sell more items at the same time.

The very strict option would be:
Although it can be really hard to find the first item, it is not allowed to have several offers at once to get a first item since you only have 1 GP. If one offer does not buy, you must cancel the offer to try a different item.

The less strict option would be:
Because it can be really hard to find the first item, it is allowed to have several offers at once to get a first item. After getting a first item you would cancel all the other offers and continue with that one item. If you got more than one item you could see which one sells first or for more then continue with that one only.

Other than the first 1 GP, no items can be obtained from off the GE, no items can be sold off the GE, so no selling to shops or other players except through the GE. All trades should be through the GE without you knowing who is buying or selling the items, so no using other accounts to help, so you shouldn't be buying or selling the same items using other accounts. The one exception is price checks which is allowed using other accounts.

If you get stuck with an item that won't sell at all, not even for a loss, you can abandon the item but you lose whatever GP you spent on that item. If it is your only item you have to start over, if you have other items you can set that one aside to sell later as long as you have some other GP left you earned from the challenge to keep going.

You can use as many GE slots as you have available on the account as long as you have items and GP earned from the challenge to fill those GE slots.

The goal is to get to 100 million GP, or whatever you decide as a goal. Hi.

Ladder Flipping Challenge Strict Option:


Strict option: 1 GP so only 1 offer, at least until you earn more GP, then you can have more offers and use more GE slots.

I start with 1 GP so only one offer to start, and I will have to cancel that offer if I want to try to buy something else for my first item. I will use only the first GE slot for this challenge to begin, but I will be able to use more GE slots as I gain more GP.

I might have to try different items until I find something. This could take days to buy a first item, especially if I keep changing items.

If I don't get a first item within a few days to a week, I might only do the less strict option.

First item: Secret for now, I'll post what it is after I get something.
Tried barley seed, didn't buy. Switching to Krandorian seed. I'm pretty sure one will buy after a few days so I'll try to be patient.
Bought a Krandorian seed for 1 GP after several days.
Sold for 36 GP.


Abandoning this one because nothing is buying with such a low amount of GP, and I can't keep track of this plus the other challenge on one account. I'll continue with the other one.

Ideally I would do this on a fresh account with nothing on it, but I'm not paying for members on an account for this. Hi.

Less strict option: Try as many offers as you want at the same time for 1 GP each until you find an item.

Bought Hammerstone seed 1 GP sold 2 GP.
Other items I tried but didn't buy: Black full helm, cactus seed.
Also bought Krandorian and Asgarnian seeds 1 GP each, so I'll see which one sells for more then continue from there.

So no matter which one I pick of the latter two, I have 50 GP to continue with.
Bought item #268 for 25 GP (Keeping the item a secret for now)

Wow I read every word and honestly found it interesting all the
different things you tried.

I normally buy things off the GE and change them in some way to
make a profit. Not always but I like this method.

But I hope you keep up this thread. The richest person is not who has the most. It is who Needs the least.
