Right... almost 60 kills dry again, the streak has ended, and this is a storytime.
So, when I started doing Barrows, I had a clear idea of what I was going for: full Dharok's was an absolute must, full Guthan's would've been much appreciated, and Ahrim's armor pieces were great for Zulrah in the future. The absolute worst item to get would've been exactly these hammers, because for a main account, they do absolutely nothing at all. Every other item has at least some use, whereas Torag's hammers aren't good for even any niches out there.
But now that I got them as an ironman this early on, it made me think it over: these might actually be useful as a crush weapon for KQ and Sarachnis, until I get a better one. So I still hate this drop, just not as much... more than anything I wish my average would improve.
EDIT: Did some more calculations and I actually forgot that dragon battleaxe + dragon defender would be better than Torag's hammers for at least KQ (probably Sarachnis too), so it's actually looking more like Torag's hammers are completely useless for an ironman too.... meh.
Geez, motherlode mine is just as bad as I remembered it: people are always too lazy to hop, even though it takes very little time to find an empty world. This time though, since I need mining for other things as an ironman, once I get the below list of items, I won't be using it to train the skill anymore. Just gotta hold on for now since they can't be received elsewhere; coal bag was first priority as it's going to be used for smithing training, to make bars for darts!
I read sweeping cap but grats for getting your favourite 8)
Also gz on the champion scroll.
Lol, I didn't even think about that but of course! Cheerio!

Yeah. Torag's platebody would at least have had great defence bonuses I guess? You could alch the hammers?
Yup, the armor at least is decent tank armor, the hammers are just garbage. If the alch value was much higher, I might consider alching them, but less than 100k gp isn't worth it, just in case they get buffed in the future (or are used for something in the future). I can make 100k gp in 20 minutes, whereas getting the hammers again could take dozens of hours.

On average, this item would've taken 468 easy clues to get.
WHAT? A DOUBLE CHEST? AND THEY'RE BOTH NEW ITEMS???
Well, this is a bit of a double-edged sword here: this is a great phenomenon to experience, but neither item is particularly great. Ahrim's staff is useful for PvP, but ironmen don't typically PvP since they gain no loot from it (not that I'm a PvPer anyway), so for an ironman it's practically useless. Torag's platelegs are a tank legs upgrade for me, but Dharok's platelegs would've done the exact same thing with the added benefit of being progress towards the set effect.
Still, I've yet to receive a duplicate item so far, let's keep it that way please!
