Lizardman shamen were kind enough to give me a rune warhammer on the 2nd kill to complete one of this clue's emote steps, but Jagex was cruel enough to make it not matter by giving me one of the worst hard clue rewards... it's ugly and useless, that's that.

Holy shit, 3 new items from one hard clue and they're all useful?! And one of them is very rare to boot? I thought the d'hide shields were the same drop rate as the rest of the god d'hide equipment, but apparently they're over 5 times rarer and rival the mega-rare drop table.

Very close to the first god book completion now, and also began on the unholy book! :)

Hard clues completed so far: 39
On average, receiving the ancient d'hide shield would've taken 1950 hard clues.
On average, receiving the god book pages would've taken 130 hard clues.

Karil's crossbow


I'm not sure what to think about this... in theory it should have some use, since it's like using magic shortbow with amethyst arrows (except the crossbow is tiny bit more accurate), but the fact that bolt racks are always destroyed when fired makes it pretty expensive to use.

Anyway, finally got an item from Karil, and only one more weapon to go! :)

Black helm (h4)


Correct type of armor but the wrong metal; it's the heraldic rune helms that are needed for some of the hard emote clue steps. Black ones don't serve any useful purpose. :P

Brittle key


That was pretty quick, just a dozen or so gargoyle kills in and I could already fight the Grotesque Guardians if I wanted to... it's just not worth it yet, without blowpipe the kills would take quite long, and I don't have Bandos boots yet to make the guardian boots anyway. Ironically what's supposed to be a mid level boss is an endgame boss for an ironman. :P
