Hi, everyone. Joe Schmoe here. And I've managed to take this game up again after not being able to for years (account issues). I first started this game back in the mid-2000s somewhere, and played for about 6 years, but got burnt out and went to play World of Warcraft (I think).

But fast forwarding to today, I'm a Twitch streamer who streams this game, and I'll be posting stream re-caps blog posts on here. But I think it would be important to let you all know what kind of streamer I am/what to expect:

• I usually play vinyl records when I stream, as in-game music/sound effects gets repetitious after a while, and having never grown up listening to vinyl - I grew up listening to cassettes - I figured "Why not?". And my tastes run the gamut, from folk music and jazz, to rock and metal, and some avant-garde/experimental as well, so one should keep an open mind. I've played some real doozies.

• I eat/drink when streaming. Apparently it's a streamer taboo, but my lifestyle requires it. I do a sorta-kinda Warrior's Diet (one big meal per day, rather than several smaller ones), especially on my nights off when I fast, as it's more effective when there's fewer interruptions. And I stream every day, even on work nights, so I don't have time to set aside for just eating. I basically have to kill 2 birds with one stone.

• I also play Melvor (aka Runescape) Idle at the same time as well. In fact, this game is what got me back into OSRS! One of my Twitch regulars, named
white_wimmin
, suggested I try this game. And the rest is history. So if I'm talking about say, woodcutting, when I'm actually not woodcutting, that's why. ;)

Well, that's all I can think of at the moment. Hope to be here a long time. Take care, and feel free to drop by. :)

This is my catch-up post, recapping day one to the present, day 3. I first started by getting all the tutorial stuff out of the way. I thought about doing iron man, but I liked trading too much in this game, especially the Grand Exchange. I still prefer doing most things myself though.

After that I got going on shrimp/anchovy fishing, eventually upgrading to trout/salmon. I'm wanting to use good food, and shrimp and anchovies won't cut it.

But eventually I got started on mining copper and tin, trying to make all the bronze - and eventually iron - bars I'll need to make all my gear. But I come to find out that pickaxes and hatchets also have an attack stat requirement as well. So I was pretty much forced to make long slow trips to The Grand Exchange - I have no idea where else to buy all this stuff, at least not without looking on a Wiki - to buy all the gear I needed instead. Now the goal is to get all my melee, ranged, and magic levels to level 10. And after that, it'll be back to mining/woodcutting/etc.

So, most of day 3 consisted of cow killing. And one thing I don't miss about this game reared it's ugly head: High-leveled players - with no shittin' business being there in the first place - just mass-killing cows, screwing me out of potential XP. To be fair they leave the leather drops, but it's a long slow walk to the Lumbridge bank, so it's not even worth my while to grab 'em all up. And I completely forgot about all the bones, probably because I was too ticked to think straight. Ahhh, Runescape!

But at the end of all this, here's my stats:

A good fast last night/this morning, lasting 22 hours. My weight went down a pound (146 now), and lost a half an inch on my gut (32.75in). Yes!

Started this session (https://www.twitch.tv/videos/625987662 if interested) by leveling my ranged skill (via cows) to 10. After that, I ended up blowing a whole bunch of money on the Grand Exchange/staff/rune shops buying all the mage gear and runes I need, only to find out that you could've gotten pretty much everything you needed just by doing the adventure paths. Oops! Goin' in blind, here....

But eventually, since magic levels up so quick I decided to just go ahead and keep leveling until the runes ran out. Got my magic level to 18 as a result of this. :)

I also started mining copper & tin, but the constant running walking from southeast Varrock to the bank was getting unbearable. So, I decided to level my agility instead, “The more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in battle.”, if that makes any sense.

So, I made the long trek from Varrock bank to Gnome Stronghold to level agility. Luckily I didn't get killed going across White Wolf Mountain, so that was good. But eventually I got level 20 agility at this place, before running the Draynor Village agility course, where I got level 25. And it was here that I got shown a 3rd party client called RuneLite by a few friends. Very useful, but it lags my game/stream, so I ended up disabling most of the pulgins this thing has, only keeping the agility one up. Did the Al Kharid one as well, but didn't care for it much. But I ended up with 26 agility, and next session I'll probably level it up some more.

And here's the records I played this session:

Saturday Night Fever - Movie Soundtrack
The Sting - Movie Soundtrack
Fleetwood Mac - Fleetwood Mac
Metallica - Ride the Lightning

After I played those, I decided to throw on another Joe Rogan podcast, this time with Rob Zombie as a guest.

Okay, gotta go. Take care everyone. :)

Played some Pinball this morning ( https://www.twitch.tv/videos/626414837 ). Pinball FX3 wouldn't save my high scores due to connection issues, so I just played Pinball Arcade the rest of the session (I don't want any of my effort to be wasted. Pinball FX3 is notoriously bad about this). Pretty good session actually, especially Bram Stoker's Dracula. Didn't beat my high score (4.6 billion), but got pretty close.

And I broke my fast after about 12 hours in. One, I tired to take a nap before my Pinball stream and my stomach was in a knot, which kept me awake. Second, I had to do some morning grocery shopping, and they had tuna sliders there, which I'm always a sucker for.

So, for today's session, ( https://www.twitch.tv/videos/626938903 ) it was mostly training agility, doing some laps around the Drayonor Village course until level 30. Then I went over to the Varrock agility course, eventually getting level 35 over there. So, making good progress!

After that though, I started working on crafting, since I have a bunch of leather from all the cow killing I was doing, eventually getting a crafting level of 19. Not bad. :)

So here's my stats so far:

And the records I played this time around were:

Jethro Tull - This Was
Todd Rundgren - Todd (sides 3 & 4. Sides 1 & 2 were missing at the time I bought this)
Black Sabbath - Vol. 4
Mozart - Eine Klein Nachtmuzik, and other filler tunes
Run-DMC - Self-Titled Debut

Okay, gotta get ready for work now. Take care, everyone. And thanks for tuning in. :)

I like it! Might have bumped into you back in the day. Good luck with all your goals! I particularly like the idea of vinyls. My father had some growing up but was quick getting rid of them when cassettes/CDs came out. Having lived off grid for over 4 years now, a battery powered vinyl player was our main source of music for a while until I upgraded to Spotify.

Ill keep an eye on your progress :)

Thanks, Osias. :)

And yeah, I had that same progression as well, cassettes > CDs > YouTube > MP3s. And now, vinyl. ^_^

Good session today ( https://www.twitch.tv/videos/627905798 if interested). I worked on my agility, running the Varrock rooftop course until I got level 40. After that, I started mining copper & tin ore southeast, that is until
white_wimmin
suggested I try over in the Falador area. Good call! But the goal now will be leveling my smithing until I can smelt iron bars (I'll also need to be able to procure some Rings of Forging as well, since smelting iron ore has a 50% chance of failure, unless they changed that) I'm also planning on selling my bronze bars, hoping to make enough money to just simply buy the copper & tin, and smelt those, rinse & repeat. Hopefully this works.

My stats at the end of the session:

And the records I played this time around were:

The Moody Blues - In Search of the Lost Chord
Boz Scaggs - Silk Degrees
Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick
David Bowie - Self-Titled Debut

And I also decided to put on a Jocko Wilink Podcast - where he interviews Pat McNamara, aka "Pat Mac" - afterwards, trying to pace myself with my vinyl, so I'm not burning through my whole collection in one session.

Alrighty, have to start getting ready for work now. Thanks for reading/watching, everyone. And see you all tomorrow. :)

And today's OSRS session ( https://www.twitch.tv/videos/628881583 ) was all mining and smithing. Eventually I got a total of 400 bronze bars, enough to get my smithing level to 15, when I can now make iron bars. And as said yesterday I planned on selling my bars, which was a good call, as:

Joe's first 100k! :D

This was more than enough to buy about 10 Rings of Forging, 10 Varrock Teleport tablets (although I'm still waiting for the sale to go through one these), 10 Falador Teleport tablets, 10 Lumbridge Teleports, and 5 Camelot Teleport tabs (wasn't sure if a quest was required in order to use these). Awesome!

So, next on the agender is getting about 900 iron ore > iron bars > $$$, trying to get 30 smithing. And after this, I'll probably work towards doing the Dwarf Cannon quest, if possible, and making cannonballs. Failing this for whatever reason, . . . . . . I'll figure something out. Otherwise, some mucho work ahead of me.

My stats at the end of the session:

And today's LP vinyl were:

GWAR - Scumdogs of the Universe
Humble Pie - Self-Titled Debut
Paul Simon - Graceland
Jethro Tull - Aqualung

And after this, I decided to play some vaporwave off of YouTube, another favorite genre of mine.

Okay, have to start getting ready for work. Thank you for your time, and catch you guys on the flipside. ;)

Big change of plans! : I'm going to quit playing this character, and create a new hardcore ironman character. Why?: The way the Grand Exchange works now. It used to be that you can offer no more or no less than 5% of the fair market value of an item, and that was it. It seems they got rid of that restriction, so now you can pick any 'ol price. So now I'll have to deal with the bullshit that I had to deal with when I played Final Fantasy XIV: Price gouging and massive undercutting. No thanks. As this pretty much defeated one of the biggest reasons why I chose not to play ironman, I'll probably just deep-six this guy and start over.

Anyway, on with the (quickie, due to lack of time) blog.

Early stream today (3pm instead of 4pm). Woke up early for some reason, just bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. So I figured "Might as well....."

So, for my session ( https://www.twitch.tv/videos/629899857 ) I got my smithing to 30 today, via making iron bars. I also did the Dwarf Cannon quest, so eventually I can start making cannonballs. Bought some iron ore and coal to help this along as well.

And here's the vinyi I played this session:

Bruce Springsteen - The River
Steve Miller Band - Fly Like an Eagle
Billy Cobham - Spectrum
Tomita - Snowflakes are Dancing

Okey dokey. Gotta create my new account, and start getting ready for work. Thanks for reading/watching, everybody. And see you all next time. Sorry this didn't work out :(
