Hi there,

I have a 15 year old runescape account. I have never been hacked. I also dont really play anymore and only recently logged back in about a week ago, on mobile only.

In between the time of logging into mobile and logging in right now (and not logging in anywhere else or ever using a client to log in or anything like that) - my runescape (both osrs and rs3) was hacked and cleared out.

How on earth does this happen when I have never logged in a part from mobile recently in the last year?

My log in doesnt even use an email account, it's a very old random login name.

I believe there may be security issues with mobile - I dont know how else this couldve happened. I lost a loooooooot.

There are several possibilities:
* your mobile device was insecure: Securing your mobile device
* you linked in to an insecure wi-fi network
* in the time between your login a week ago and your login today, you viewed dodgy Runescape content on social media and were deceived into giving away direct access to your mobile/RS account.

You may be able to eliminate one or two of the above scenarios but one scenario must have occurred.

What can you do now?
You need to review your account security.
As a returning player, you might not be on top of the current recommended security set up.
