This is a suggestion for RuneScape mobile relating to specifically 2x2 farming patches and their interactiveness to touch input - for example flower, herb and mushroom patches.

Background / What to know : Objects in the RuneScape world have (usually) invisible bounding shapes used to determine whether a user input falls within this area. This is called a hitbox and is needed in any 2D (screen) to 3D (game world) conversion. When this condition is met, interaction can occur.

Issue with the 2x2 patches : The game sees these as having one larger object in the centre of this grid to interact with. I'm not sure what the shape of this is, but the hitbox of this object is smaller than the total size of the patch. What this means for mobile is that when you act on this patch (like using composts or planting seeds) your input needs to be centered rather than on any of the 4 squares; it is easy to miss, especially if you play zoomed out.

Proposed solution : Make each of the 4 squares interactable with the patch rather than the center object. In the current way of interaction, it is an inconvenience and unintuitive in the case where the patch is empty.

Why it needs to be fixed : It is an inconvenience, for sure. However, it is also a matter of consistency. In OSRS mobile these patches behave like my proposed fix; each square is a hitbox for the whole patch. Moreover, for larger patches in RS3 mobile, it already works this way.

Would appreciate if the ninja team could consider this update request. Thank you!
