Started a new mobile account on ios and it started me on tutorial island instead of Davendale. What's this about?

Good morning Red Mophead,

Every new Old School RuneScape player character that enters the world of Gielinor for the first time will appear on Tutorial Island. The Davendale tutorial is only available through creating a new character on Runescape 3 via mobile. However can be played on desktop thereafter. Ooh, shiny things!
