Hey all,

So, generic info first.

Phone-- Samsung Galaxy S20 5G
Model number SM-G981W
Country-- Canada
Carrier-- Telus
I play using both Wifi and Data

Positive feedback--

Many of the press-and-hold features are relatively intuitive for someone who has played before. The graphic detail that is possible on the phone is excellent. I noticed that playing on the phone seems to alter the default skybox to something that has more light than what would usually be applied in dark areas. I think this is something that was done by the mobile app-- However, this might have been carried over from my skybox selection in the desktop version of the game.

Questions--

Why is there not an edit mode for re-sizing things, and moving things around like there is in the desktop app? Too many items from my layout in the desktop app clash with ANY kind of practical functionality in the mobile app, and I cannot find any mobile equivalent to the advanced options in edit mode for PC which I can use in mobile to move and optimize things like the position of my buff/debuff displays, or prayer/summoning points indicator, or my health and adrenaline bars, or even the minimap size/orientation.

Having layout options from Desktop try to carry across to the mobile version of the game seems like a poor design choice to me. Shouldn't my mobile app have its own layout profile, unique and separate from any layout options I have selected in PC?

Negative feedback--

While I recognize that I am playing on a phone, and not a tablet, it is odd to me that with new phones that have a curved edge that allows the screen to be displayed right up to the edge of the device without a defined border where the display ends, the fade-away phone interaction buttons (like the "all apps" or "home" or "open apps" buttons" on a Samsung phone) which disappear to allow a more immersive view of the screen while playing RS leave a gap between the RS buttons (Equipped items, backpack, prayers, spells, etc) ...

...And the right side of my phone screen, when I am holding the phone tilted 90 degrees to the left. I don't know if you can fix this, since the design of the Samsung menu buttons is such that they can be recalled by "pulling" them back up, but if you could have the RS buttons float above the Samsung menu buttons, regardless of position, this would improve the experience a bit.

Many of my display items start to overlap when I'm using EOC combat in Mobile. I genuinely like the appearance of the combat layout, but there is some functionality which seems... incomplete, or hidden, or broken. The menu options that are available by clicking on the health, or summoning familiar, or adrenaline buttons on the desktop version of the game seems to have been misplaced. Oddly enough, clicking on the prayer button still tries to activate my quick prayers, so 1/4, I guess.

I cannot figure out how to assign actions/items/functionality to an action bar in Mobile. Again, I'm having issues with the fact that I would love to build one layout for stuff (like having separate action bars for mobile) that I do not have to lose when I am playing on my desktop. Setting up one action bar across the bottom, and being able to select that action bar or a different action bar, and splitting the buttons in a larger format on either side of the screen is a great way to make the functionality more easily accessible. This was a really great choice. However, it is a fundamentally different build than the full, continuous action bar in the middle of the screen, and I think it should have a separate designation, so that I can build it as "buttons I wanna push with my left thumb" and "buttons I wanna push with my right thumb" and then be able to drag and drop different items into the left and right thumb buttons in the mobile combat interface.

Issues with feature accessability

Somehow, while doing slayer in my POSD, I managed to turn off auto-retaliate. I have no idea how. I had to log back in to desktop to correct it. It might have had something to do with the non-aggression that occurs when opening the loot tab, but after it stopped working, I started to notice that there was a "find enemy" pop up that was partially obscured by the left hand combat buttons. Tapping the popup seemed to have my character re-focus on an enemy, and then it would reappear when that enemy died, and my character would become unaggressive again. There needs to be a way to toggle auto retaliate in mobile.

It took me quite a while to find the disassemble item "spell". I guess it's just something I never paid attention to in desktop, since I always used the drag/drop "disassemble" option directly in the backpack in desktop, and never actually cast disassemble as a spell. I was going to complain that it was impossible to disassemble items, but now I realize I'm just not totally familiar with the fact that there are multiple ways to do it in desktop, but only one way to do things in mobile. I understand the logic for reducing redundancies in mobile, but this makes me wonder why you retained the long-way-around functionality instead of the more accessible functionality.

Can I recommend a "tutorial island for mobile" type introduction to different features in mobile, and how they differ from the functionality in desktop? Even if it was just a collection of NPCs that I could re-visit for further information on how to access certain features.

You could have "Colin Combat" and "Sally Settings" to walk you through the fundamental functionality in mobile, with specific attention being paid to the interaction path by which you should be able to find any setting you want. Sally Settings might walk you through how to open the options menu in mobile, and where other settings can be found.

This way, as more players started to use mobile, they could revisit the NPCs to assist them in finding more and more specific functionality which would allow them to optimize their mobile experience and increase the number of situations in which players choose to use the mobile app, instead of just using it as a bare-bones interface that they use to grind gathering skills at work.
