Welcome to the forums.
At the bottom centre of your screen, you should see your health and adrenaline bars, as well as purple and green circles denoting your Prayer and Summoning points. Press and hold the green Summoning circle and select the 'dismiss' option. From there you'll be presented with three options: pick up, release or cancel. I'd recommend picking the pet up, as you'll need it for future quests.
If you can't see what I described above, press and hold the sword icon in the lower left of your screen and select 'Toggle Combat HUD' to bring it up.
