My Issue
I have no access to this closed beta
but it is what it is, life goes on
. What bothers me though is some of my clan mates got
2 invites(main & alt)
but they only have iPhone so they can't participate in the closed beta. This makes me curious about how many people couldn't access the closed beta because of their smartphone.
My Solution/Fix
Do some user testing please!
A simple survey asking the user what phone type they have iPhone, Andriod, etc... would be good enough, IMO. For example...
IF
(the user has an iPhone || anything else that isn't Andriod) {
Don't send them an invite to the closed beta that's only downloadable in the Google
PlayStore.
}
Final Thoughts
Maybe the hardest part about this would be removing the users that don't have an iPhone and giving new users access or that's the easy part since a % of the users haven't even used their code because they don't have Andriod, therefore, the activation code shouldn't be "active". I don't know the logic behind this operation but I'm happy there is a forum to discuss things like this.
For iPhone Users
I understand that apple only accepts a
finished product
so that's why it's not on there but you can use
testflight
. The only downside is that "When testers are invited to beta test your app, they are
prompted to install the TestFlight app from the App Store
on their iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Apple TV if they don’t already have it installed". No one likes downloading an app to use another app but it's just food for thought.
