Why doesnt draining strikes (t6 relic) work with ice barrage (lvl 94 aoe ancient ice spell) in single combat areas? it doesn't have an aoe effect in that case, but it DOES have a higher max hit than ice blitz, so its a serious disadvantage to have to use ice blitz just to make use of my t6 relic. on the wiki is says this relic works with scythe of vitur, but only on the first creature hit.....so why cant they do that with ice barrage?

I feel like I wasted my t6 choice....

I feel you. Too be fair though it is clearly stated that it would not work with multi-hitting attacks such as chinchompas & burst / barrage. But i do not see the reason why they didn't just do the same for these attacks as for the scythe.

Agreed, it should still hit and activate on the first target only. When I first read the relic that was the way I took it. My fault for not paying closer attention to it.
