Hi,
I've connected a mouse via OTG cable but its not registering through on my Samsung Android Tablet. I can see it works for iPad for a bluetooth mouse, but as i dont have one, would like to see if anyone else has tried this on a android device? or if this is supported in the future?
I bought a wireless mouse today and also an OTG adapter for my Xiaomi Mi A2 with Android Q. The goal was to have 2 mice side by side - the one I use to control my PC/notebook and the second one to control OSRS on my mobile which is on the table. I wanted to have higher precision as activities like Motherlode mine require more than my clumsy fingertips can provide.
It was NOT a pleasant surprise when I found out that the mouse was able to control Android without any issues BUT as soon as I try to control OSRS with it then only the right-click button works as a 'back' button and nothing else.
I have done some research into the topic and all I was able to find is that people use 3rd party apps to set up a keybinding for mouse similar to what you would do before using gamepad to control mobile games. It is kind of a workaround but the thing is that this approach might not be safe due to the fact that you basically load OSRS app 'through' the 3rd party app (among other security issues this could be bannable for using 3rd party SW?).
For this reason I will not go down that path and continue to use my fingers to control the game. It would make me, and I think a lot of other people, happy though if native support for peripherals would be implemented (if such a feature even is possible tech-wise).
Aaaanyway, those are my two cents on the topic. I'd like to hear/read some official statement regarding this topic so that I could at least know what to expect.
Happy 'Scaping
