Membership in app purc* failed

Been trying to buy a membership. Through the OSRS Android app. I'm getting an error "payment unsuccessful. Your payment method was declined. Please select a different payment method."

Using latest everything.

1. I've tried three different payment methods (visa, from different banks)
2. I've spoken to my banks and to Google Support, all of which say the problem isn't visible on their end.
3. Google support referred me to the app developers to resolve this, which is why I'm posting here.

Please help?

The Google app probably does not recognise that you have an account if you are not using a Google login but are using the normal login/password method.

If you created the account through Google, sign in to it through Google to use the app.
If you created the account here on the website in the usual manner but are now using it on mobile, try adding a Google login: Link your account to Google

Thanks for your reply. I created my account over 10 years ago and am now using it on mobile. I just linked my Google account through the instructions you provided, but it hasn't resolved the problem. I signed out from the app and signed in again using Google, and I'm still getting the same error.
