Hey OSRS player,
I wanted to touch base on a really important aspect of account security here: two-factor authentication, also known as 2FA. It's vital to keeping your account and all your hard-earned progress safe.
2FA essentially adds a secondary layer of defense to your account. After entering your password (that's your first 'factor'), you're asked to provide a second verification step. This is usually a code that's sent to your phone or email. This means even if someone manages to get your password, they won't be able to access your account without this second 'factor.'
This is particularly crucial for us OSRS players. We invest so much time (and sometimes money) in our characters, making our accounts very attractive targets. 2FA makes it significantly more difficult for anyone to hijack your account, and it gives you an additional safety net beyond just a strong password.
I strongly recommend you enable 2FA on your RuneScape account if you haven't already. It's a few extra seconds every time you log in, but it drastically enhances your account's security. Remember, it's not just about protecting your GP or items; it's about safeguarding the countless hours you've put into this game.
