So this has just happened to me and I don't know why. I recently tried getting on my OSRS account through the mobile iOS app and it's asking me to pick a nickname for my character while I am sitting on Tutorial Island like it's a brand new account. I don't know what is different this time as I have played my current OSRS account from the mobile app before with out any troubles but ever since about 10 minutes ago it's asking for a new name like it's a brand new account. I sign in using my same username and password as I do on the desktop (which by the way still logs me into my current level 50 account) and it's still acting like it's a brand new account. I don't know how to fix this as I don't understand why this is happening. It's like it's asking me to create a second character for my one account (which I know isn't possible). I haven't don't any past that first question asking for a nickname in fear of wiping my current account which I have recently been grinding really hard on. I don't know what all of a sudden changed on the mobile app but it kicked me out and said I needed to re-login to play and that's when this problem started. Could somebody please help me? I would like to play my current OSRS account on mobile again.
The mobile download for iOS auto creates a new account though you should be given the choice at the login screen to select which character you want to log into.
The login screen should say:
* Continue with Game Centre
* Continue with RuneScape account <- select this one to get to your usual account

Originally it would log me into my account but this past day, I opened the app and clicked play now (I was already logged in and it saved my credentials) and it told me I had to re-login. So I then chose Continue with RuneScape Account and logged back in like I normally do and now it's asking me to recreate my character like it's a new account.
Well I just wasted thirty minutes of my life that I will never get back. Apparently when ever you add a game to the Game Center now, it cannot be unlinked. Not by you and not by anybody else in Apple. So if you've accidentally clicked Log In with Game Center, your OSRS app will forever be paired with Apple's Game Center, forcing you to create a new character.

What you are describing shouldn't happen - you should still be able to access your regular account via the iOS mobile.

are you absolutely, positively, cross your heart certain that you used your regular login?
Meaning, you might have typo'd the login without realising and started
another
new account.

prevent you from being able to log in to your regular RS account through your iOS phone.
It's not preventing me from logging into my account, however when I do log into my account normally it's acting like it's a brand new account and I am forced to create a new character. I am positive that I am logging in with MY account. I checked several times by logging in with the SAME credentials using the desktop app and had access to my account as I normally would have. All of these problems started happening AFTER I accidentally clicked log in with a Game Center, then went back and chose the other option (log in with a previous OSRS account) and logged in as I normally would have only to be told that I need to make a nickname for my character as I was sitting on the Tutorial Island (as if it was a brand new account). I am 100% positive that that I am using the same account and same credentials for both the OSRS mobile app and the OSRS desktop app, only the desktop app logs me into my normal account.
Like right now, I just logged into my account via the desktop app with no problems and it's all good. I can play like normal and it has everything that I've been working on. Just five minutes ago I logged onto the mobile app using the SAME EXACT account and password only for it to show up as a brand new character like I've never played the game before.
