Hey everybody,

I am posting this so that others can find an alternative solution for WiFi disconnects on Mobile but do not have any problems when they use LTE data.

Change your wifi settings to Static instead of Automatic and also update the default DNS to what your internet provider recommends, my default was a Google DNS not xfinity dns which works better for me. For example xfinity is "75.75.xx.xx"

I kept looking for a solution. I have the Latest phone and the fastest internet but I always kept disconnecting after a minute or so when playing OSRS mobile. I did all the things you could think of, restarting, reinstalling, DNS flushing, clear the app cache. Nothing worked. So I experimented and this is the solution that I found works for me.

I hope this will help the very few that were having the same problems as me. I think this problem might be related to Xfinity Xfi, but I will have to look into it more.

Good luck!

Xfinity xFi essentially is Comcast using all of it's customer's XB3 Modems to broadcast the XFINITY and xfinitywifi Public Wi-Fi connections practically anyone can connect to from anywhere. I don't recommend using Public Wi-Fi connections like these without a VPN.

But if, for some reason, you decide to use them without a VPN, you can always try Cloudflare's One dot One do One dot One app to easily connect to the Cloudflare DNS w/ Warp which would give you a VPN-like connection (note: not an actual VPN).

There are a few quick tricks if you're having Wi-Fi problems with a Mobile Device. Most of the time, the quickest way to solve them is by turning on and off Airplane mode. That will disconnect your Wi-Fi and disconnect you from the Mobile Tower as well. And it's a quick alternative to refresh your connection without restarting your Mobile Device. But every so often, you should also restart your Mobile Device to clear the memory from all of the apps you've opened and closed.

That being said if Xfinity is your ISP and you're having problems connecting to your Home's Wi-Fi, I'd recommend buying your own DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem and WiFi 6 Router. The newest modems Xfinity currently offers is the XB3 which is a Wifi 5 DOCSIS 3.0 Modem Router.
