The third game of the season featured a collection of average players, the Rellekka Falcons, going up against the United Bowl favorites, the Miscellania Vikings. The game ended up being highly competitive, becoming the second game of the week to go down to the last drive.
The first half was marked by both offenses being able to move up and down the field at a steady pace. Neither team was able to deliver a knock-out punch on the defensive side of the ball, and the game remained close. Rellekka was able to force seventeen defensive stops in the game, with thirteen of them coming from Luke and Dark. The Falcons were able to find offensive success by staying away from Dittro who finished the first half with just two tackles. The last drive of the first half was ultimately a turning point in the game, as the Vikings were able to stop the Falcons from scoring.
The Vikings started with the ball in the second half and instantly pushed their lead to a two score game. Dittro led a strong offensive attack throughout the game, and recorded nine total touchdowns.
Despite being the favorite to win the United Bowl, the Vikings came into the game with big question marks on defense. The Falcons game plan was to attack Caleb’s side of the field, and he ended up finishing with a game high nine total defensive stops. Dittro and tilt finished with a combined twelve total defensive stops and were rarely attacked through the air. The Miscellania defense stepped up in the second half when Cookie arrived to push the game to a four vs four. Cookie recorded three tackles and helped the Vikings settle into more clearly defined defensive roles.

The Falcons gave themselves an opportunity when Ham forced an incomplete pass on fourth down midway through the second half. However, they doomed themselves by being an extremely predictable offense. Caleb stepped up in the second half and was ready for the challenge of being consistently attacked. Dittro and Tilt played tremendously disciplined goal line defense that ended up being the key in the final minutes.
Overall, the game went down to the final minute when the Falcons were driving for a chance to tie the game. Dark attempted to find the endzone twice by running the ball, but was denied access to the end zone when Caleb came up with back to back clutch defensive stops. The Vikings went on to run out the clock and take home their first victory of the season.
• Rellekka relied primarily on Dark and Luke on the defensive side of the ball, with only a paltry four defensive stops coming from other players. Luke finished with a team high eight tackles and continued his solid defensive play.
• Miscellania looks like a beatable team, and thus the league looks to be wide open for the taking this season.
