Beach event ruins exclusivity

In a previous year for the beach event, the sand cape was a rare item token that I was really happy to have gotten (happened to win it, didn't buy the token). Now Jagex gives it away as a tier 1 prize to everyone? What the heck? Kinda bs in my opinion. Would be like giving away santa hats to everyone next Christmas so players who missed out on them could get a chance at them (extreme example, but you get my point).

This is one of your many weaknesses as a game; the lack of being able to obtain exclusive/rare items that you can feel a little proud of.
