Hey Aarox, the event wasn't a big success as I was the only one arranging it, but I did get to share some starter kits (Mod Ronan gave me a kit spawner), and that was good fun for people. It does seem people who play Old School have a firmer grasp on how the game works today, even if they're completely new, but I did manage to point out some P2P tips to new players who wanted to become members in the future.
I think our role might have changed a bit, but I do believe TGNP as an idea is not dead. We still can do our classic donation events, people always appreciate getting lobsters and arrows and full iron sets when they make a new account. Also, we can also guide people into new content, and I think big updates such as Zeah coming up, we can expect to be useful again pretty soon.
TGNP... It's like one of those things where you can truly use the quote "came for the gameplay, stayed for the community". In the end that's what we were. Basically as we got busier IRL we had less and less events and more and more chatting in the CC. But that's fine, at least we got to be a part of a JMod-supported event group for a long time. We were at one point almost as big as Equinox, and that makes me proud to have been a part of it.
For the future, I think I want to wait and see if we can get in touch with people from the old days, who I barely remember still. Skelly, Blood, Venus and Rainstar/Ironycold (Missy), Aaroxmaster, Ubs and lots of others. If you read this thread again, stick around, check it every so often, and I will reply here after a while.
Cheese and onions,
Cap* Evan, still a fan of *GNP.
