I really hope I do not have the unpopular opinion here. I'd really appreciate it if the next Double XP Weekend event on November 22nd offers 48 hours of double XP spread over 10 days, instead of 36. I'd like this because I usually put 48 hours in the past Double XP Weekends.

I'm just letting my voice be heard, and I hope Jagex considers this! Cheers :)

They're been doing DXP the same way for years, they're not going to do it in such a different way with it coming up so soon, especially not when they're already doing something a little different, for which they've told us to keep alert for more details.
Also, each DXP is 72 hours. Noon on a Friday until noon the following Monday. If you thought it was only the 48 hours of a Saturday and Sunday, then you've been missing another 24 hours.
About spreading DXP over more days, I don't think that'll happen. To have only certain periods of time each day when DXP is enabled would give an unfair (dis)advantage to people in different time zones.
Furthermore, Jagex knows how important DXP is to so many people. Students skip classes to participate. Adults call off work and use vacation days. People carefully plan their schedules around DXP and optimize routines for maximum efficiency. To put it simply, if DXP lasted any longer than 3 days, the entire global economy would slow down a bit for a week or two as everybody would be too busy playing RuneScape.

I think you're missing the point of what the OP is saying.

They're not claiming that DXP lasts for 48 hours. They're simply asking for the next DXP event to be extended from 36 to 48 hours.

To put it in context, the next DXP event, starting on the 22nd of this month, won't offer DXP for 72 hours over a weekend. Instead, it will offer DXP for 36 hours, spread over the course of 10 days. This means that you can log out and log in whenever you wish - the multiplier will only be active when you're in-game.

Have a read of the Double XP Weekend: Extended news post.

Haha!

I do with also that the DXP was for 48 since I'm far behind on the exp that I should have gotten from other DXPW due to inactivity >_<. I'm going to put in as much work as I possibly can when the time comes (and I know it's going to be more on our time rather than a set period), but I still wish I had the option to extend my DXPW - lol! I know that's not fair but I sure would not be complaining one bit about that :P

Hope everyone gets great exp during DXP time, best wishes and good luck. :)
