So i have to switch payment cards and i want to go premium but currently i am monthly. Would i need to unsub and re sub as prem or if i just sub to prem will it update everything. although not a big deal would unsub mess up my loyalty crowns?

Just set up a new subscription with the new card.
It will automatically cancel the previous arrangement and will not affect your loyalty crown as long as you don't let membership lapse.

The loyalty crown is quite stringent to qualify for. A player must not let their membership drop out for even one minute.
