Check the confirmation email and make sure your account is correctly identified (login and display name).
If the email shows a different login and display name, it means it went to another account of yours. The membership always goes to the account you are logged into at the time you pay.

If the account is correct, make sure you have logged out of the game and closed the game window, then open up and log back in.

If the account is not the right one, you will need to message Billing Support to get the membership transferred.
Use the contact point on the Transfer purchase support page to get to a message form.

Hi Malua,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I have checked the confirmation email and it says 'Character Name Unavailable' so I think this might be the cause of the problem. However, I do not have multiple accounts with the same email address so I'm slightly confused why it can't find my character name. When I log in to the Runescape website account page, it shows my correct email and display name so I'm not sure what is going on here.

I also had a look back through older confirmation emails and I noticed that another email received at the end of August also had 'Character Name Unavailable' so this issue my have been going on for a while. I'm still receiving marketing emails to the same email address which contain the correct character name so I think something might not be correct with my account?

Do you still suggest that I contact billing support via the Transfer purchase ticket?

Firstly, identify this "Character Name Unavailable" account.
You can request a list of your account logins by using the tools on the [link url= Forgotten login ][/link] support page.

Logins and connected emails:
Each account has a unique login but you can use the same email as the connected email (registered email) for ALL your accounts.

This "Character Name Unavailable" account is either an old abandoned account of yours or else one you have accidentally created at some time.
You were logged into it when you bought the membership! O_o

After using the 'Forgotten Login' page, your next step will be to contact Billing Support to get the membership transferred to the account really want it on.
To do that, use the contact point on the Transfer purchase support page to get to a message form.

I need to apologise in advance as you will have to wait 2-3 weeks for a reply and resolution to this problem.
Billing Support normally respond within 48 hours but they are monumentally backlogged currently and the current response time is approx 19 days. :(
