hi, i had been a member for many many years, but it lapsed earlier this year, as i wasnt able to play, i was paying a direct debit every month, but when i went to renew it seems i have to pay a lump sum is this the case? its a lot of money to fork out for me in one go

Are you able to get into the game?
Or is this issue preventing you from logging in to the game until the balance is paid?

If you are unable to log in, you should read the information on the Settle an Unpaid Balance support page and then message Billing Support to get some information about what has happened.

While you wait for a reply from them, work through the Securing your account instructions as your account may have been hijacked.

no you misunderstood me, i was paying by dd but my card became out of date, and as i wasnt able to play for a while, i didnt provide new card details, so obviously my membership lapsed. i have on
occasions when there had been offers, i had paid for those in one go. but im sure after they ended i went back to paying monthly subscriptions which is what i prefer to do so i dont have to renew every month/3months/year etc.

Sorry, I misunderstood your initial post, specifically the "but when i went to renew it seems i have to pay a lump sum"

If you just need to re-subscribe, select which option suits you best - one month/three months/ six months/twelve months.
These are all auto renewing.

As your membership has lapsed, you lose the benefit of having a grandfathered rate if that is what you had.
