In the original post from November, it lists the price of the Gold package as £44.99. Converted to USD, that is $61.52. However, when I actually go to the page to order the package. It's saying it's $74.99 for the Gold package. What am I missing here, that is giving me a nearly $15 difference in pricing?

From reading different forum posts, it sounds like the deadline to order Premier is either February 1st, or March 1st. Which is fine. But it doesn't say there was special pricing, or a discount when Premier was first released. So it should still remain the same price as the original announcement.

Hi there
SpZ Wolf

You cannot compare the UK price with the USA price, nor is the price difference between countries a straight conversion.
If you are resident in USA you would never have been able to pay the UK price of GBP 44.99, the price would always have been USD $74.99.

The date difference actually relates to price.
If you buy before midnight of 31st January the price of USD74.99 is the discounted price.
If you buy during February until midnight 28th Feb. the price is rising to the regular USD price $89.99

Why is the price not a straight conversion then? If you can't take one price and have it loosely converted to the other countries price. Then does that mean they're making some people pay more than others?

"Why is the price not a straight conversion then?"

Because, for other countries, Jagex needs to use companies that collect payments, convert them and transfer the funds to Jagex in a usable format i.e. UK pounds.

Even though you buy directly from the website here, if you are not in the UK, Jagex have to get another company to actually collect and handle your money.
They pay a fee for this to happen.

If you want a cheap deal, Runescape Gold Premier is a very good deal in Poland, Mexico, Malaysia, Sweden, Norway and Brazil.
This just means Jagex is getting a good deal from the companies collecting the money in those countries/currencies and they can set their price lower.

They must be paying a premium price for the conversion and transfer of money from the USA and the USA Gold Premier price reflects this.
USA isn't the most expensive country to buy Gold Premier though. O_o
