Will authenticator be required

I am curious: when the new Jagex accounts system goes live for everyone, will we be required to use an authenticator?

I tried it once and it was a nightmare.

2FA will be required with Jagex Accounts

either you'll get a code sent to your email (default and done during setup), or use an authentication app like the google authenticator....or both. Can I turn in a paper without citing all sources?

So, we can keep using the email verification - getting a new code sent each time we want to log in; and the authenticator is optional. Good to know.
