I just recovered from dealing with this nasty login bug where I went to go check my in-game messages and it led me to the Runescape website in my browser where I needed to login.
I proceeded to login and every time I tried to it made me reset my password. This went on for ~2 days until I was randomly let back into my account via my 2FA this morning. I wish I could say that this was the first time this has happened.
The first time I was trying to switch to the Jagex launcher and this same issue happened but was resolved much quicker somehow. Please look into this issue as I've seen other people having this same issue, It's super frustrating.
I'm just trying to continue playing on my account like everyone else and yet it's trying to protect myself of logging into my own account. Also frustrating that the only way of receiving help is the support section that only suggests that you use the unlock account feature (which makes you reset your password again) or to submit a bug report (which also requires you to login).
On Twitter, JagexSupport mods, only told me to use those options and they were canned answer which is also maddening.
Please PLEASE look into getting a fix in place for this. I shouldn't get punished for trying to check my messages or switching to the Jagex launcher and locked out of my account for days. I just got 99 farming the other day and this wasn't a good way to celebrate that. Please try to get this fixed so I don't have to fear my account getting thrown into this kind of loop again.
