This happened to me yesterday 12/04/2023.
TLDR:
Nothing helped on laptop screen, but switching to my monitor helped
Issue:
When starting runescape the page is zoomed in to bottom lefthand corner not showing password section to log in.
To fix the issue with sizing making the screen smaller by pulling the page at one edge, the system will adjust to fit the screen. BUT this causes the mouse to be completely uncalibrated.
A few things I tried:
Going into settings and adjust parts of the graphics. Noticed that there is not a button in graphics for "Fullscreen", noticed no drop down menu for resolution settings.
Follow walkthroughs from runescapes website for troubleshooting with no avail.
(Where I found that I am missing above features)
Create 2 bug tickets to communicate issues to developers this issue is occurring.
Test if it is an issue with my track pad (That is not otherwise affecting regular computer functions except in Runescape) I plugged in a mouse to see that it did not help.
Test if it was my laptop screen or if it is all screens connected laptop to monitor. This worked! so there is an issue with the system registering the size of my laptop screen and no issue with a (Much) larger monitor. This monitor I do not normally have plugged into the laptop so this is not an issue where the application was confused on which screen it was loading into and giving a bigger picture on my laptop.
Tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling to no resolution.
Observations:
Even when the game is in the super zoomed in feature at log in, before adjusting the screen to make all parts of the log in screen open, the mouse calibration is still off. If you try and select the settings "Gear" Button from initial log in page you are actually clicking somewhere else.
