Okay, I'm nearly at my wit's end. Since I started my OS account, I haven't been able to log in on mobile but it wasn't that huge a deal because I mostly play on my Macbook laptop using the Runelite application. While in my account management last night, I saw the information about migrating your account to Jagex and saw that would make logins smoother. Sounded like I would be able to use mobile if I did that so I did.
Huge mistake. I was able to log in on mobile but no longer on Runelite. I was using the Jagex Launcher, the correct profile, everything, but every time I tried to log into Runelite from the Launcher, I get a "Failed to login" message. Nevermind that I am logged into the Launcher, the webpage, everywhere else. The official client didn't work at first until my husband pointed out I need to install Java for the Mac since it doesn't already have it (would have been nice to see a message when setting up the Launcher about that but whatever). I installed Java and tried the official client.
Got the SAME message. "Failed to login. Try again." Again, I checked mobile, and was able to log in. Logged out of mobile, logged back in, was able to log in. Mobile works GREAT. Except I don't want to do the bulk of my playing on mobile. I want to use Runelite. I'm used to it and it's plugins and I can't go back.
Opening a ticket with CS hasn't helped as the only suggestions I got were stuff I'd already done (log out all instances, reinstall, restart). Nothing is working. Has anyone else encountered this? What can I do? I can't use Runelite without the Launcher now since I migrated (DUMB MOVE) but I can't use Runelite with the Launcher until I figure out how to fix this.
