launcher and client fails ugh

my os is win7 all updates are current
graphics drivers have not been available for years as they [intel] stopped updating it.

the game client I used before worked fine until recently on this machine
it was version 2.2.9 [still runs fine on my IBM laptop [same network, same intel drivers]

All the back ground areas turn to red.
the map and other tool bars, inventory look fine.
can open a bank & that looks fine [after searching for it in the red]
the XP & other pop ups look fine.

I have tried the launcher as well as removing the client & reinstalling it
[yes cleared cache & waited while a new cache has downloaded]

its been like this a few weeks & id like to get back to training necro, but its the game just showing red and no details prevents this.

my anti virus is panda [which Ive tried turning it off & no difference]

Ive tried the latest launcher but sadly its not working either.

compatibility mode [win7 for me] seems to be working fine!

right click & choose compatibility tab -> then choose your OS > apply and try it. :)
