Hi,
yes I have reported this as a bug but I wanted to share this in the forum as well.
I have runescape on this laptop for nearly 5 years without issue, but since installing the new launcher I have had graphic issues which crash the game.

It works like this, I have a second screen (AOC 2260) attached to laptop, both this and laptop screen run at 1080p, not an issue for the NVIDIA GTX 1060.

The launcher starts on the laptop screen, and the game loader appears there as well, however I play the game on the second screen, and that is where the main window appears.

If I let it stay there, during the shader pre-loading phase, it will almost invariably crash with Buffer Frame Overrun violation. This happens both in-play and on the login screen. This resets the graphics card and the display eventually comes back in low res. The PC will not do a warm restart successfully at this point, I have to power off and on again.

If I simply drag the main window over to the laptop screen and leave it there a couple of minutes until the shaders have finished loading, I can then move it back to the monitor screen and play successfully for hours without it crashing.

I am running the 22H2 windows release, and my graphics drivers are regularly updated.

I have seen several other posts reporting this type of catastrophic game failure. Jagex graphics programmers, please search your souls and tell me you haven't screwed up the shader pre-loading on multi-screen environments!

This thread has been moved to the Community Led Technical Support Forum for best results.

(The Recent Game Updates Forum is for feedback and discussion on updates that have entered the game in the past two weeks. The Jagex Launcher was introduced in March 2022, and therefore is no longer considered 'recent'.)

I use a laptop with a second monitor when I travel. My experience has been that the client would not load properly if started on the second screen, even before I started using the launcher. I start the client/launcher on the main screen and once it has finished loading, I can move it to the second screen with no issues.
