All Jagex Account logins require Multi-Factor authentication - that is, you need to enter something you know (your password) and something you have (either a verification code sent to your email, which proves you have access to your email, or an authentication code from an authenticator app which proves you have access to the device that generates those codes). That's part of what makes them more secure than the previous solution.
With that in mind, you shouldn't need to be entering your login information all the time since the Jagex Launcher remembers your information unlike the RuneScape game client. So long as you aren't using a public/shared computer, you can likely just leave the Jagex Launcher logged in instead of fully logging out of it.
