My account was hacked a few months ago. I followed all of the security best practices recommended. Account protected by MFA, Email protected by MFA, bank PIN, etc, but somehow someone logged into my account. Botted 130 corrupted gauntlets (Which i don't have the skill level for) and cleared my 300M cash and items. But hey I have the pet?? lol I took a break so wasn't able to convert to a Jagex account. How was an attacker able to get into my account? I don't have any emails saying that account recovery was under way either which is odd. OSRS btw

Hey, Sadnub.

The best thing you can do now is to Upgrade your RuneScape character to Jagex account for better security features. Furthermore, I'd follow the advice enumerated here Security tips and here Security advice for optimal security settings.

You may either have a compromised linked account or a compromised computer/device. Check this guide Unlinking Linked Accounts to see if you have any unrecognized linked accounts. If you do, immediately remove them. If you do recognize any because you added them yourself, make sure that they are secured by following the instructions here: Security tips .

... there's a possibility that someone else is trying to claim/re-claim said account probably to turn it into a Jagex Account, which makes it impossible for one of you to reclaim it once it is a Jagex Account.
