If I had known that "upgrading" to a Jagex account was such a pain in the ass then I wouldn't had done it.

I tried to use the Help Section to Recover my Account because it said it was locked.

I can log into my runescape account online webpage but the launcher is useless.

I have been using only my user name and password to log in ...now I need to use my email address.

Changed to my new email address in account settings. Then was instructed to create a Jagex account. Okay, did that. Went to use launcher and bingo ...my account is GONE! Now it tells me to create a New Account~!!! Nope, not starting over!!

WTF-?? It worked fine last night then it's broken!

The launcher will not allow me to use my user name and password that I've been doing for nearly 20 years!

From 7th November, new logins to the Jagex Launcher are required to use a Jagex Account. RuneScape accounts can no longer be used with the Jagex Launcher (they can be used with the RuneScape and Old School clients, but eventually all logins will be required to use a Jagex Account with the Jagex Launcher).

As you have created a Jagex Account now, you can add your RuneScape character to that Jagex Account. Information on doing that is here:

Once that process is done, you may need to restart the Jagex Launcher for the account to show up. Additionally, once that is done, you will
only
log in with the Jagex Account details (the Jagex account email, password, and multi-factor authentication code) for both the Jagex Lancher and the RuneScape website. Your old RuneScape account details will no longer work.
