Can a Jmod please look into my account and tell me how exactly i got hacked?
I'm a maxed acc, and this is pretty much the only account i've played on for the past 8 years
I haven't logged on for months, not used any weird clients, had 2 factor auth on
NEVER shared my password nor even email to anyone else for my account. I don't click on weird links, all those phishing emails that look like runescape password changes i ignore and it gets sent directly to junk mail anyways.......

I've been so busy with IRL that I honestly forgot about my account until today.
I was surprised that my usual password didn't work so i recovered my acc and to my surprise
this account logged in yesterday???

I also had a bank pin but i guess it was just disabled and the hackers got into my bank and transferred everything away

I lost 8 years of progress on this account and over 5 or 6b worth of items

can someone please just give me an answer?

that's really what i'm looking for

can a jmod please help

So, your password was changed. Was your Authenticator removed?
A changed password and disabled Authenticator indicate the hijacker has access to your email as access to the registered email is required to make those changes.

When a hijacker has access to a players email they can:
1. retrieve the login
2. use the login to reset the password
3. use the login and password to disable Authenticator

Secure your email. Change its password right away and set up a 2-step verification on it to prevent unauthorised access.

The Bank PIN can be removed just by waiting out the time delay on removal of an unknown PIN, either 3 or 7 days depending what you set.

I recommend you consider setting up a Jagex Account.
If you have been gone for months, you have probably missed the news about this.
You will be able to set a completely new login email for a start as the hijacker knows your current login.

Hi there

My Authenticator was NOT removed
The password to the account was changed and I recovered it quite easily.
But I specifically checked that the last time the account logged in was 1 day ago.
I haven’t been on in months so it was definitely someone else.

I understand the tips that you gave me but my email address was not given out, nor would I ever give out the email address because its a personal email
And a work email. I made it so I wouldn’t ever lose the acc.

If the hijacker did not remove Authenticator, check the 'Linked Accounts' tab in account management.
If you see any accounts linked in there, unlink them (including your own).
Click on 'Manage Steam' and 'Manage Amazon' to check for linked Steam or Amazon accounts.

If there are no linked accounts then, the hijacker has access to your Auth code generator.
Do you have it set to request a code every login or every 30 days? They don't need as much access if you have it set to every 30 days.

You may not have given out your email but, there is no doubt someone knows and has access to it.
The password cannot be changed without that access.

If there is any doubt at all about how the hijacker got access, I urge you to upgrade to a Jagex Account. You will immediately stop the hijacker from being able to log back in.

I do not have any accounts linked from what I can see
My auth is on my cell phone that is an app and this is the only way I can get the 6 digit codes
There are times I couldn’t login personally because I didn’t have the codes…..
and I don’t lend my cell phone out for obvious reasons

I’m still not sure how i could’ve gotten hacked…. ??

Hey,
I'm having an issue with the holy grail quest. I had been reset YEARS ago, and just recently got back into Rs3. I have the holy napkin in my invetory, but the magic whistles aren't showing up inside of draynor manor. Also, the conversation with Galahad was "I've lost the table napkin you gave me." I think it is some kind of glitch.

@ iAm Fallen - You are best off creating your own thread in the RuneScape Guides and Help Forum to ask for help with a RS3 quest.

This forum is for getting assistance with account issues (such as security, display names, account bans, registered email) rather than issues with in-game content. As well, your issue is unrelated to the topic of this thread.
