I've had this one username on one of my accounts for years with no username rule/filter issues. I've never expected it to be an issue, because it's not vulgar or anything remotely close to crossing the line when it comes to usernames. I tried to switch it to a new account, did the double name change thing, and it won't let me pick it. No one has taken the name, so far at least, and I don't know what happened.

I'm blown away, because I've seen some pretty vulgar names and they're allowed. The name is just a slightly longer version of this username, so I don't know what to do. I would've never tried to move the name if I had known this would happen. Is there anything I can do to try and get it back?

I would say what the name is, but I'm afraid they'll fix the filter and someone will snipe the name. I just don't want to add to the pain.

The name might not have tripped the offensive filter years ago when you selected it but, in the years since, it has been added to the "can't be used" list.
Jagex has added foreign language words to that list where, originally, it was only English words.

So, you did a double name change and the name should be fully freed up now?
You can check if anybody else has sniped the name by adding it to your friends list. If it adds, it means another player got the name.

Are you doing the name change from inside the game or outside the game?
Always try name changes from outside the game. More names are available while outside the game.

If you can't find the name on another account and you cannot select it then, I am very sorry, you won't be able to get the name back. Jagex won't even allow it back on its original account if the name is now on the offensive word list.
