Big issue with jagex launcher

Jagex has had many newsposts over the past year with information, and a whole support center section dedicated to Jagex Account information....over this past year they've been out.
The permanence of it has not been in fine print, it was right there on the beginning page. Not hidden or sneaky at all when it's been there, and in the various newsposts and support articles.
Jagex is upgrading their account system to include features which players have been begging for for years. Ability to change your login name, complex passwords, better authentication methods, backup auth codes, and having multiple characters per account. The old system is on old tech, they cant keep maintaining and upgrading it.
Tomorrow, new accounts will be Jagex Accounts and no further RS accounts will be created. In the next year, everyone will be moved over and the old system retired from being able to log in with. The most Jagex will be able to do is merge the accounts together so you can use it as designed, log in once and access your characters without swapping around.
But reversing, it just outright will not happen.
One alleviation in the mean time could be to change the email of the other account to be the same as the main one...with the same email trick:
